Hello, Debbie!
Thanks for the compliments! You are so kind of heart & all of you ladies were so generous to us rowdy RTers!!
I told my DH about my losing it, thinking I missed the bus, and catching a ride with you all...funny thing was that I got to "touch" Cathe's shoes and it didn't even dawn on me until they were a prize what they were!:+ I can't tell you how tickled I was to win the lifting gloves! I really needed them too!
Actually, Doug & I build custom houses for a living (& a few other odd jobs). Those pics are of the house we are currently living in. I posted them actually to share with a buyer, it is currently on the market (hopefully not for long!). I love this lot! It is at the end of a cul-de-sac and is enveloped by 2 fairways. The kids love to ride their bikes and I can feel safe allowing them to do so.
The house plan is from Frank Betz
www.frankbetz.com He is one of my favorites, although we are building a Don Gardner plan right now I am also fond of. Their plans flow really well inside and the curb appeal is bar none! My DH is a master at framing and usually there is something that needs modified on the plan, but it is never any big issue...actually, I don't think there is a problem he can't solve. You should see the round "witch's hats" that he build recently, I was impressed!
Funny that you say it should be in a magazine...it was just on the cover of the local HOmes & Lands and will be on the front page of the Real Estate section in the Sunday paper in a few days!
We move every 2-3 years (we have been in this house 2 1/2 years) since you don't have to pay income tax on the sale of your primary residence if you lived in it 2 of the last 5 years before selling it. Certainly the moving is a hassel! But, we are fortunate to have guys that we employ and we just tell them it is moving day today instead of working...and they don't care. Although, sometimes, things are not handled as easily as I would like!
Sorry to be so long winded...I love to talk about houses and decorating! His job is the building and my job is the esthetics...love it! :9
Debbie, it was a great pleasure to meet you and I hope to re-unite with everyone next year!
xoxo, Denise :7
