Rotten past 12 hours

Cathlete
It started last night around 8:30. I was winding down after a whole day of running around. I needed to make some whole wheat bread in the breadmaker, so I got all the ingredients into the pan. When I was leaning over to plug the machine in, I knocked the pan over and everything spilled onto the counter. So I had to clean it up, dump the rest of it into the garbage disposal, and start over. Except I had used the last of my whole wheat flour with the first attempt. I started over with white bread this time (I know, I know...but I needed bread for lunch!). I didn't realize I was using a different recipe book than normal and got halfway through adding the ingredients when I got to the part that said "dry milk". I don't have dry milk!!!!! And I used water as the liquid. The recipe I normally would use calls for real milk. So....down the garbage disposal again.

Then I get up this morning and get in the shower to see that the caulking project I worked on for over 2 hours last night didn't take. It was peeling away from the tile. So I've got to strip it off and try something different.

Then I go outside not realizing that we had gotten 3 inches of snow last night, and I didn't have my boots on. So my socks are all wet.

And to top it off...I forgot to bring my midmorning snack! I don't have any oatmeal for 9:30. I'm going home!!!

I hate days like this! x( Try to laugh it off or think of something that will make you smile. I know that you are frustrated but you are healthy and today is a new day...okay, your new day did get off to a crapy start. How about this...Start a new day at lunch!???

:) Smile!

Just think.... it can only get better after all that:) I sincerely hope it does! Sending positive, happy thoughts your way!

Thanks. My assistant just gave me a bag of Cadbury Mini Eggs. I haven't decided if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Haven't seen this in awhile

I have at times considered changing my name to Murphy. it passes. Hang in there and read this:

MURPHY'S LAWS

1. Nothing is as easy as it looks.
2. Everything takes longer than you think.
3. Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.
4. If there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will cause the most damage will be the one to go wrong. Corollary: If there is a worse time for something to go wrong, it will happen then.
5. If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway.
6. If you perceive that there are four possible ways in which a procedure can go wrong, and circumvent these, then a fifth way, unprepared for, will promptly develop.
7. Left to themselves, things tend to go from bad to worse.
8. If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.
9. Nature always sides with the hidden flaw.
10. Mother nature is a witch with a capital B.
11. It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious.
12. Whenever you set out to do something, something else must be done first.
13. Every solution breeds new problems.

Murphy's Law of Research
Enough research will tend to support your theory.
Murphy's Law of Copiers
The legibility of a copy is inversely proportional to its importance.
Murphy's Law of the Open Road:
When there is a very long road upon which there is a one-way bridge placed at random, and there are only two cars on that road, it follows that: (1) the two cars are going in opposite directions, and (2) they will always meet at the bridge.
Murphy's Law of Thermodynamics
Things get worse under pressure.
The Murphy Philosophy
Smile . . . tomorrow will be worse.
Quantization Revision of Murphy's Laws
Everything goes wrong all at once.
Murphy's Constant
Matter will be damaged in direct proportion to its value

Murphy's Corollaries

Left to themselves, things tend to go from bad to worse.
It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious
Law of the Perversity of Nature (Mrs. Murphy's Corollary):
You cannot successfully determine beforehand which side of the bread to butter.
Corollary (Jenning):
The chance of the bread falling with the buttered side down is directly proportional to the cost of the carpet.

I changed # 10 ;)

RE: Haven't seen this in awhile

Sorry the above is so long!

Donna,
Why is that one negative thing can start a chain of events? I have no answer for you because some day are like that and refuse to redeem themselves. But a bad day can turn into a great one too! I hope that's what your does!

Hey, it can only get better. Send the kids to a friend's house, run a hot bath, light some candles & have a cup of tea (I'd say a glass of wine but I refuse to advocate drinking at 10 am LOL).

Hey Donna. Do you mind if I ask what your whole wheat recipe is? I have a bread machine that hasn't been used in years and would love to make some fresh whole wheat bread.

Thanks,
Katie

Hmmmm...off the top of my head (I'm still at work)...it's 1 cup of water, 1 tbsp butter or margarine, 2 1/3 cps whole wheat flour, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp salt, 1 1/4 tsp bread machine yeast. In that order.

Don't make it until I double-check the amount of flour. I'm pretty sure that's it though.

If only I could run a hot bath and light some candles in my office. But alas, there are windows without blinds...

So far, not bad. My daughter didn't wake up until after I had a chance to watch this week's The Shield. That's awesome, because if you've ever seen the show...it's not appropriate for 4-year old eyes and ears. I got a nice workout in with PS Legs and the cardio sections of Cardio & Weights.

I just did S&H Legs on Tuesday, so my legs feel like noodles now. But good noodles. Like those really nice wide egg noodles that taste so wonderful with some melted butter and salt....

I've got to attempt to fix the tub thing that I messed up the other day. Back to Lowe's. Why is it that days off are never really days off?

My day today hasn't been stellar. My daughter and I were supposed to go to my sister's for a last visit in her current house (she moves in about a week). So we get all ready, get in the car, start driving. About 1/3 of the way there she says "Mommy, I don't feel good". So I tell her we'll pull off the highway at the next exit, and then she promptly leans over and throws up all over herself. I pulled off the highway, found a towel, cleaned her up. Phoned my sister, cancelled the lunch date, and as we happened to be right by my office, DD and I went there for a little while to get her a drink of water and let her stomach settle. She felt much better, so I showed her the binding machine and we made her a notebook. All good. Then she dropped something on the floor and in the process of bending over to pick it up, smashed her forehead so hard on the edge of my desk that she fell over backwards. So now she has a big blue bump and a cut on her forehead.:-(

It can only get better, right?
