rotations/endurance vs strength

I have been perusing the threads on this forum with great interest. One thread I followed talked about Slow&Heavy. Many people made the comment about the definition they developed as opposed to the "muscle endurance" they obtained with other workouts.
Would all of her weight workouts be considered "endurance" except for S&H?
I've also noticed that people speak of "rotations". I'm new to her strength workouts and have just been doing whichever DVD I was in the mood for/had the strength for. Is that an incorrect approach?

IMO, yes.
Quite a while ago (pre-Hardcore), Cathe made a list of her strength workouts, rating them from endurance to strength. PH was on the endurance end, and S&H on the strength end. At that time, PUB/PLB were what she put as closest to S&H (with the Hardcores, the GS might be there as well).

I don't think rotations are necessary, but a balance of workouts is. I have general rotations that I follow most often (full body strength one day, interval cardio the next, cardio and lower body the next, stretch/yoga, cardio and upper body the next, etc. and within that, I vary my workouts.

As long as you have a balance of cardio, weight work and stretching (and, I'd also add, functional fitness and balance work), you don't need to follow a rotation (though rotations help a lot if you are going for a certain, specific goal). Sometimes, without a rotation, it's easy to "forget" to do upper body for too long, for example, or to not "be in the mood" for lower body for too long.

Quite a few of the rotations that I've seen that Cathe comes up with for her series are not what I would choose to do, as they sometimes work the same muscle group two days in a row, and also have a lot of high intensity (I believe in varying intensity).

I say, but i am no expert.
Muscle endurance enables you to do more longer.
Slow and heavy, helps you build more muscle.
I rotate weekly slow and heavy, pure strength, pyramids, gym style.
I do this for muscle confusion. I do always have sore muscles.
This week was gym style. My legs are killing me.I am trying to build muscle so the fat can melt off naturally. Burn more all day long..
As long as you are doing something, I feel you are on the right track.
