I'm ashamed to admit it, but I am a native Northeastern Ohio-an and have NEVER been to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! My cousin is coming in from Florida and want to go, so I'm going to take her and her 11 year old son.

Anyone want to report on it? What are the highpoints? Anything Beatles interests me, of course!

Hey, ya'll know that there will be a CHUCK NORRIS movie marathon in one of the TV stations on July 4th? My little butt will be planted on the couch Thursday except when I go downstairs to use the Jake machine, and I will be watching Chuck then, too.

Hi, I'm originally from Toledo, now live in Columbus and there's still alot I havent seen yet in the area either! But, I did visit the HOF a few years ago (in my late 20's) and remember it being on the "cool" side. Lotsa Beatles stuff there when I went. There was also a cool MTV display. As far as the 11 year old, he may enjoy the wax figures of the rock stars, they look pretty real. I'm sure there will be alot of things he may not really know the history of enough to appreciate, but all in all it's full of alot of neat things to just look at for someone his age. That being said, who really knows what an 11 year old boy would think is "cool" in this day and age. Maybe our token male, Trevor, may know!

Have a good holiday and congrats on your first class!

:)Stacy

I LOVED the HOF. I went several years ago and am dying to go back. My parents live in the Pittsburgh area (not too far from the Beaver Valley Mall you went walking in a while back!) so my mom and I took a road trip to Cleveland. It's awesome - I could've spent days roaming around in there. Plenty of Beatles stuff. My favorite things were Janis Joplin's psychedelic painted Porsche, the crumpled up lyrics to Purple Haze that Jimi threw away cause he didn't like them and a letter Bruce Springsteen wrote to a woman in Sweden at the beginning of his career (he couldn't believe people in Sweden had heard his music). There's tons of cool stage clothes and all sorts of bits and pieces of the artists lives. You should really enjoy it and I'm sure the 11 year old will too.

Have fun and let us know how you liked it! (And enjoy your t.v. date with Chuck on the 4th! ;-) )

You'll love it, HB. Lots of neat things to see! It has been awhile since we were there, but I remember it had tons of Beatles stuff. I think the 11 year old will enjoy it as much as you. Lots of loud music playing throughout.http://www.plaudersmilies.de/party/dance.gif You'll get lots of walking in too! :7 Have fun "rocking" with Chuck on the 4th.!!!

Well, I went on Friday, and I alreay know I have to go back! Groovy! Especially for the baby-boomer, it's a must see. They had a John Lennon exhibit that'll be there till the end of the year, so I have to go back before it's gone.

Great music all through the place, and lots of neat clothes, including two Elvis jumpsuits circa 1972 & 1973. That was a bad year for Elvis, because the 1973 jumpsuit is LOTS bigger.

I got a Booker T and the MG's CD I'd been looking for a long time, since 1968 as a matter of fact. I worked at Cedar Point that summer and we played "Hip Hug Her" on the ride I ran.

Too, too cool!!!!!

Token male huh? I resemble that remark! lol! :)
I am venturing to guess an 11 yr old boy probably likes Eminem, if he's allowed to listen to that, and Kid Rock, among others. Unfortunately they are both thugs. Linkin Park is another band that comes to mind.
I love the way Kid Rock basically kisses Aerosmith's butts every time they appear together. Hey, he knows who's the real deal! I hope parents out there are bringing their kids up right and letting them sample at least the Beatles and Aerosmith. IMHO the Beatles are the greatest EVER and Aerosmith is perhaps the greatest hard rock band ever, definitely the best the U.S. has ever produced. Other great bands off the top of my head:
U2
Led Zeppelin....although very sloppy live
Fleetwood Mac
AC/DC
Van Halen.....although Eddie destroyed them
Duran Duran....they get better with age
Queen
Eagles
Steve Miller Band
Ted Nugent
Simon and Garfunkel
The Stones....pre-1982...they really should give it up
Mammas and Papas
Glen Miller
The Police
Man I could sit here all night! lol!
I have been to Cleveland twice and been out front of the HOF but had no time to go in.......I could kick myself!
Trevor :-jumpy

Oh, dearie, you would really LUV the John Lennon exhibit! They did all this wonderful stuff when they were so young.....it just amazes me. I feel lucky to remember so much of the stuff that I saw in that museum, and to remember it CLEARLY!!!! I was such a good kid that I never binged on anything stronger than sugar and grease!

Trevor, if you ever get into town, you MUST go to the R&RHOF!!!!!!
