Rock Concert and my hearing!

Hey! I posted last week that I could not hear as good from a rock concert I went to. Just thought I would let you all know, I can hear just fine now. The ringing has finially stopped too. Learned my lesson and will wear ear plugs next time. Feel blessed that there wasn't permanent damage done.

Took 2 days for the hearing to come back completely and ringing to stop.

Wow that's scarey!! I seem to remember having that problem after the last concert I went to a few years ago and like you thank goodness it was very temporary. Hearing loss is becoming more and more prevalent in our society because we like it LOUD. I still today (at 39) have to remind myself to turn my radio down at times- always young at heart ya know:)

Glad your better though.

I'm glad that never happened to me. When we were in our 20s, my husband and I used to attend rock concerts a lot. This was back in the 80s. I still love those 80s hair bands. I would still go see them today, but I can't get hubby to go anymore.

We just got back this past weekend from the NASCAR races which are pretty loud, but we had no problems.

Marcia,

Went with DD to see some "Emo" rock bands...

First one was..."Veda". They were the best and a girl was the singer of course!

Second was.... "The Bled". Hubby and I joked that they were going to make our ears "bleed" (scream fest)

Third was..."Under Oath". All they did was scream in my opinion. I think this is when my hearing must have gone some! LOL!

Last was..."Thrice". I liked a few of their slower songs because I don't get into the screaming.

My kids are always telling me I play the music too loud. I think that's pretty funny! The teenagers telling the mom to turn down the volume. I think I probably did lose some of my hearing from all the concerts I went to years ago. But, I always tell my kids I lost it from carrying them around for hours while they screamed in my ear when they were babies. Marnie

The worst temporary deafness I had was after watching the Edinburgh Tatoo at Edinburgh Castle.

80 something bagpipers surrounded by stone walls. I heard bagpipes for weeks!
