Rock Bodies: Road Trip??

Anyone watch this show on VH1 the other night??? It was a special on what different rock stars do to keep "fit". What a waste of an hour!! For $150 a session we can all take a road trip to the We Care Spa and be "cleansed" by a Certified Colonic Therapist. I wonder if their training is as rigorous as the Sandwich Artists at Subway?? Mark your calendars ladies!! We can make a day of it by heading over to get our botox injections later that evening!!

I'm glad someone posted about this. I read about the show in the Sept copy of Self Mag. Its one of the things that annoyed me about this months mag was the fact that it features these women as wonderful examples of fit and healthy.

But who not only workout for hours and hours every day (Britney is reported as doing 150 ab crunches during her workouts)but also use diets which to say are unsafe is being mild.

Sorry for going off on one but the only redeming feature story I thought was Kelly Price who sounded not only sane but sensible in her weightloss and maintenance. I only hope she stays that way.

I also watched the "Rock Bodies" show and it was pretty much a waste. As a personal trainer myself, I was shocked at some of the high risk exercises that some of the trainer's use on their clients. As for Britney's 150 crunches--what's the big deal about that. I routinely put my clients through at least that number of varying crunches and ab moves. I bet if you counted the number of crunches that Cathe puts you through at the end of Pure Strength Legs and Abs it would be much more than 150 (that is the only Cathe video I have so far so that is the only one I can refer to but I am sure the others have just as rigorous ab sections). As for colonics, what a bunch of poo-poo--pun very much intended! If someone is eating an adequate amount of fiber and their digestive system is functioning properly, there is no need to flush the system. I am sorry, but things are only supposed to come OUT of that area of my body, there is no way I am going to pay someone to put something in there! I second the previous poster's comment on Kelly Price and how she is being sensible about her weight loss methods and is not trying to become like the stick thin icons of today.

I never even heard of this Rock Bodies show, but I agree that 150 crunches is nothing! Somewhere I read that Britney does 2000 crunches per workout. That might be somewhat impressive, but does she do any of those killer planks or core work? Well, I guess she has nice abs, so whatever she is doing is working for her abs at least.

Britney's crunches are doubtfully what she owes her ab tone to. How about boogeing that hot little bod around the stage for 3 hours at a time??!!!

Being 20 probably helps, too. Heck, I had a four-pack without exercising when I was 20. However, I do admire her hard work and dedication. I read that she runs on a treadmill on an incline while singing so she can sing on stage in her shows.

Unfortunetly when I was twenty the only thing rock hard .....well actually nothing I was mainly flab alittle like a baby seal just blubber.

I'm no fan of Britney yes I am happy that she has a flat stomach but when you look at the hours she speads rehearsing dancing and working out if someone her was to post that here as a rotation we would suggest that they cut down.

Their bodies are their instruments but like any instrument it needs rest we are in a world where body is more important than anything else often including talent.

I just don't think they are good examples for women of any age and lets not forget they do make a lot of money out of what they do..
