ROADTRIPPERS...please share

lederr

Cathlete
Hey RT'ers! Glad you are back safe and sound. Okay, so for those unlucky saps that didn't get to go, would you please share some of your favorite memories and experiences from the trip? Pretty please? We want to live vicariously though you! :)

OMG - there are SO MANY memories that I need to sift through them a bit before I share some highlights. Now please keep in mind that I've been up since 5:30, worked out with Cathe and everyone at 7:00 and had really delicious carbs before traveling for 6.5 hours (I drove). I just downed a glass and a half of wine so I'll do that sifting and posting tomorrow, but for me one of my highlights was seeing the transformation of "my shirt" (pics tomorrow) from blank to FILLED with color, signatures, and energies of my amazing RT buds - capped off by this unbelievably strong and courageous woman named GAYLE (banslug) making a donation to my walk this morning at breakfast. She made me cry (ok - sob). Words cannot begin to capture this weekend - though Heather says she took off work for tomorrow to decompress and write - so look for her post then. More tomorrow - hugs to ALL Catheland - we ROCK!

Well first of all meeting and working out with Cathe is the best. Second would be meeting so many wonderful women(and a few supportive husbands) who all share this one common bond(a love for working out with Cathe DVDs) who all joined together, shared, laughed, cried and sweated throughout the weekend. What an experience!!! Wish everyone could have attended.

Just a few:

Getting to walk with world class walker Lorrie on Friday afternoon.

Watching Emily do Italian (Water?) Ice Art on the tablecloth.

The excitment in the room as the crew and Cathe were first introduced.

Watching Vickie's dancing phone.

Being told she's famous by another famous person.

Meeting all the <--people, RT check-inners and other wonderful woman I "know" from the forums.

Riding the amusment park bus to and from the gym. (Don't ride if you are pregnant or have back or neck problems)

Watching the crew, the staff, the co-ordinators and Cathe being gracious and smiling through the the entire weekend.

Wearing a BIG GOOFY GRIN while working out with Cathe.

Hearing Cathe say all her catch phrases during workouts, with a hundred woman screaming after each one.

There are many more memories and I'll try to share them as they rise to the surface of my over excited brain.

Thanks, Lorrie! Now you've got me crying AGAIN!

I went to bed trying to sort out all the good stuff, but it's all just one BIG memory! It's all looped together.

The LAUGHS!!!!! Oh, man! The laughs! Funny ladies, we've got here!

The motivation...from all different angles. Motivation from my fellow RTers, from Cathe, from the different stories and personal journies these ladies all shared so graciously.

Belinda and Alesia from Germany!

I won't forget tripping on my step, shuffling to keep from falling, then crashing into the girl behind me (I actually ended up on her step, lol), and I don't even know who it WAS! LOL

Table 11 & Table 12 war on the trivia game! That 'evil' pic is hysterical (in my picture trail).

In the end, though, what I'll remember the most is these WONDERFUL women. Since this was my second RT, I was able to relax a lot more and just enjoy the company of everybody else there!

Gayle

To many to name but the things that really stuck out in my mind are....

1. The workouts because of the fun factor and the energy in the room was amazing.

2. Being able to tell Cathe in person what an impact she has made on my life. I was able to tell her that because her workouts are so fun and effective I stuck with them and lost 50 pounds.

Oh, here's a couple more...

Being on the winning relay team. Yay for us. Yay for all the relayers!

Having my "fan mail" drawn out of the hat on Saturday night.

Watching Cathe's lifting gloves and used shoes being raffled off.

Oh boy... so many memories! :D

Walking around the Philly airport in search of the ground transportation desk, and being approached by Carolyn asking "Are you on the Cathe road trip? I recognized your papers!" (Talk about having an eagle eye!)

Being on the Rapid Rover bus with Carolyn, and then having 2 more lovely gals get on (Stephanie and Cheryl) who also happened to be on the RT.

Having the bus driver ask us what we were all going to Deptford, NJ for and telling him "Well... um.... it's really hard to explain..." ;)

Getting to the hotel and being greeted by a dozen other road trippers.

Getting on the party bus to the Meet N Greet and listening to hippie bus driver's weird radio station really loud.

The crazy relay race - I really suck at tricep pushups. ;)

Learning about the new iPod workouts and new workout blender software.

Cathe and her crew making their big entrance on Friday night - they all looked so beautiful and TINY!

Kickbox class on Saturday morning - what a BLAST!

The very interesting and informative guest speaker. I learned a lot about improving my posture and keeping myself injury-free.

The sculpting class, which proved that you DON'T need heavy weights to get good 'n sore. :)

The step class, which was SO MUCH FUN - we learned some new moves and combos that are super cool. :D

The very late Saturday night dinner, with delicious food and DRINK, a crazy trivia competition, and a raffle drawing for Cathe's sweaty lifting gloves and aerobic shoes! ;) (And I'm totally jealous of the people who won Cathe's stuff!)

The VERY EARLY kickbox class on Sunday morning. *yawn*

The deeeelicious french toast at the Five Points Diner.

The hugs and tearful goodbyes before everyone had to leave.

What more can I say? Every moment was a memory. It was so much fun packed into just a couple days. My hat's off to the coordinators - they really outdid themselves this time. :)

ETA

Oh, and Robin reminded me of a few more too

The water ice art on the tablecloth - heehee! I hope that stuff washes out. ;)

Robin's love note to Cathe in the raffle drawing - hahahahahaha! :7

Oh boy, so many memories, let's see:

Checking in at the front desk and meeting Amy who upon hearing my name, said "Oh you're the snake girl" and then having the front desk worker say "Yeah, I heard about you".... great... ;)

Seeing all of my OAL and check-in buddies for the first time and feeling like I had known them for years.

That amazing workout floor and those awesome stability balls - must get one of those!

Meeting Cathe & gang and seeing how TINY they all are. Laughing with other RT'ers about how some gals say they do not want to get "bulky" like Cathe and crew and then looking how tiny and gorgeous they are. If any of them are "bulky", I'm a freakin' amazon! ;)

Standing behind Cathe for the sculpting class and realizing that she was really there and I wasn't watching a tv image!

Having Cathe & Tracey both compliment my hair - made my weekend! :D

Riding in the back of the bus with the OAL gang and laughing at the music the driver was blaring.

Running the relay with Cathe and crew cheering us all on from the sidelines!

Hearing 106 girls stomping on the step and actually being able to follow Cathe and not get lost! A big triumph for this step challenged RT'er.

Enjoying the gale force winds of the "Big Ass Fans" when hot and sweaty. Not enjoying it so much when she was freezing at 6:50 a.m. in the morning.

Waking up at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday and moaning with fellow roomie Emily about how sore we were and how we would never make it through a workout, then somehow forgetting the soreness when the 7 a.m. workout began. Call is "Cathenesia".

And of course I will not forget the bathroom stall lock that almost claimed several victims including a bride on her way to her reception. If you go to Adelphia's, do NOT use the middle stall. The door locks, but doesn't unlock. :/

Hey Liann, my DD saw a picture of you from the back, walking into the gym from the bus. She commented on your beautiful hair too.

Realizing, with great relief, that Tammy and I were pretty much on the same wavelength.

Seeing the drunk obnoxious wedding party guys at Adelphia and assuring them that the twinkie bus would along soon to collect them.

Meeting so many fascinating, fun people.

Catherine cracking me up during the speaker session.

Meeting Jerry Garcia and his bulbous purple nose.

Realizing we are all human, including Cathe and crew, on various stages of the journey.

And my advice to anyone on the next trip...rest, rest, rest before you go. I had such a busy week preceding the roadtrip and I came in exhausted. If could do it all over again I would have given the pillow some serious attention.

OOMG... so many, but here's a few...

Arriving at the hotel and meeting friends I feel I've known forever.

Sharing with my new friends my unfortunate inside out underwear situation.

Knowing that my new friends sympathized with said underwear situation and hung out with me anyway.

Walking into the meet and greet and seeing all the absolutely amazing women. Realizing that I was exactly where I wanted to be.

Learning some of the OAL lingo and finally understanding the mystery of the OAL's. Knowing that now and forever I have a place to go when I need to run and hide. Finding out that this place is a HH and there can be Cabana boys there if I choose.

Sharing my prized dancing ( and yes Beavs, "farting") pink phone. Seeing how all who shared in the mystery of the dancing pink phone are as much in awe of it as I am.

Pizzeria Uno. Where the heck were the other 100 girls??? Hello, you guys missed the cocktails!!

Um, taking 3 Cathe classes in one day. Enough said.

The "ouch" factor...

Reveling in the "ouch" factor.

Sweating profusely and seeing that noone cared. Glad that noone broke their butt as the result of my sweat zone.

Meeting Cathe for the second time ( I met her at her gym last year) and having her remember things about me. She actually asked questions about my kids regarding things she remembered.

OMG, Cathe's shirt on Friday night. I WANT that shirt!

Dinner Saturday night with my table 11 and 12 girls. Cracking up at our misfotune and threating bread ball fights. ( we shoulda' done it!!)Gayle cracking up every time we got ignored!! ( thanks for that picture Gayle. That is some funny stuff!)

Dianne and I plotting our stay in prison.

Talking Ed into buying Michelle and I a drink.( I think his name is Ed. It's the guy from the gym.) You rock Ed!!

That freakin' 7:00 A.M. kick butt class. Who thought we still had it in us??

Last, meeting some wonderful people who each came with so much to share. Themselves, their stories, their enthusiasm, their warmth and their love.

I hope everyone can experience this at least once.

Getting to meet Michelle and Vicki for the first time, it was like reconnecting with old and dear friends!

Vicki and my peanut butter toast with spoons.

Introducing my friend Alicia to the crazy and exciting world of Cathe.

Meeting so many lovely women from our checkin and from the yaya board.

Glenda Peters Spencer, the psychotic and tempermental GPS system I rented. She kept getting VERY annoyed with us ignoring her directions.

Table 11 and 12. Gayle I LOVE the evil picture also.

Finding out the true meaning of "Sancho" - Don Quixote's cynical sidekick. Love ya Lauren. :)

Filming 106 fancy feet during step class. I managed to eek out a few combos of the routine but mostly just had fun watching everyone.

Presenting Cathe with the t-shirt from the Atlanta Cathe Fans group. I didn't really want to go up but Jodi made me and I'm glad she did. Cathe just loved Jodi's amazing design.

Getting woken up by 1:30 AM by a wrong number THREE times who insisted the person they were looking for was in our room.

Dancing with Ed at Adelphia.

Our UNO girls night out.

There's so much that was just so wonderful about this weekend!! i loved the workouts, meeting Cathe and crew. Meeting all the Catheites in person!! Oh and I sooooooooooooo want that aerobic flooring now. Working out on carpet will never be the same. Must save my pennies, well must save alot more than that LOL!!!

On moment I remember was while doing plie squats I had gotten a bit fatigued and of course Cathe's butt is about to touch the floor LOL!! But Cathe gave a glance in the mirror in my direction and I dropped down as far as I could go. Nothing like Cathe looking in your direction (even if she's not really looking at you) to get your butt in gear :+

Let me see if I can think of some of the tings I am processing.

Meeting Cathe and the crew was awesome!

Robin...I was definitely looking forward to meeting you. It was a pleasure working out next to you yesterday and I hope the tire got fixed.

Emily...glad to meet a fellow veggie and runner. Hey can I get a copy of that pic from breakfast?

Beavs...sorry I got messed up on the step and kicked your foot!! I was so tired at that point, I am not sure how I even got thru that workout...nice meeting you.

Walking the streets of Atlanta with 2 girls I met from the canceled flight. Without any luggage that night as Delta put us up in a hotel we were trying to find some toiletry items...

The wonderful cab ride from Newark to Philly friday evening! And yes the nice smelling cologne the cabbie must have drenched himself with....NOT!!!

Sweating like crazy in that first class with Cathe Sat.

My cool roomies!

Heathers scream at dinner Sat night. Heather gives the most warm and incredible hugs too...:)

Trying to convince Shelly she could do a bicep curl with the 100# dumbell!

Susan's insatiable appetite...:)

The DOMS I still have this morning after dragging myself out of bed.

The special sweet photographer Retrofit!!

Spending some time with Randidiane at the Philly airport! I am so glad you and your Mom made the flight...:)

Meeting all of you RTers was the best time I have ever had. If any of you that have not gone to a RT read this, seriously try to go for the next one. It is the experience of a lifetime...

Carole, no worries from the Mr. Bean impersonating stepper using the online moniker Beavs! I was really glad to have met you and get a little P90x inspiration! I also was glad to catch up with Susan! Step class was uber fun!

Beavs...you crack me up...:)...the only way I survived was actually watching Susan, and you are right, the step class was way fun!
