Road Trip thoughts, revelations, memories

Fantastic thread, Pinky! I'm going to print all these off for my scrapbook!

And I'll add a few of my own:

- New Jersey doesn't like pedestrians
- School buses can go MUCH faster than I thought!
- I can shower and change MUCH faster than I thought!
- Being around 100+ women for a weekend is a heckuva lot of fun!!
- Calling down to the front desk for extra towels and being told to come down and get them (something new!)
- (This is a repeat, but MUST be said) Cathe and crew are MUCH more stunning in person than on video...and yes, tiny too!
- EVERYONE (Cathe, cast, coordinators, Chris and the staff, ALL the trippers...everyone!) WAS SO DARNED FRIENDLY!
- Rapid Rover isn't too rapid
- I realize now how much I need coffee in the morning
- Working out in a big group isn't as scary as I thought it would be :)
- Selling all my FIRM videos on eBay to afford this trip was a stroke of brilliance! :7

REGRETS

- NOT talking to MORE of the trippers (like you, Pinky, whose pictures I HAD seen before the trip...and I thought, WOW! That girl is gorgeous and buff! And you have a beautiful family, too!)
- NOT talking to MORE of the trippers sooner (like Chris, our "rooster," whom I didn't get to chat with until breakfast on Sunday...what a totally cool guy!)
- NOT changing lockers the FIRST two times I lost my quarter! (Duh!):(
- NOT videotaping more of the weekend's events. (How precious it was to have just a few minutes of "moving pictures" to watch...but now I want MORE!)
- NOT taking my camera out sooner when Cathe announced Mark would be demonstrating "a few kicks"
- Forgetting my underwear on Sunday morning...ewww

What a wonderful, if not somewhat surreal, time it was! I want to do this again!!!

:) MEECHER

Yes, Laura, my eyes ARE open now :) Mark helped with that and he doesn't even know it! Although I *did* give him my infamous "smile/wink" as I turned in my FitTV survey ;-) OH...you probably don't know about that yet. For some reason, I sometimes wink when I smile and it's an involuntary type thing. I didn't notice it until one of my friends asked me why I had just winked at some guy! No wonder the freaks flock toward me -- I'm winking at them!

Anyway...I'm also learning lots from my "Why Men Love Bitches" book that I bought at the airport (you know, since we spent so much time there). I'll be ready soon!

Miss you girls,
Shonie

Wow, keep these thoughts, revelations and memories coming. I love reading them.:)

Meecher, thank you for your kind words. That's one of my regrets, too, not talking to more road trippers. It was like, when I started talking to someone, the conversation lasted quite a while. And because of the lack of sleep, when I wasn't talking to someone, I was vegetating in a corner!:) :+ That's okay, you have my e-mail in the Who's Who book. Let's "talk" sometime.:)

Pinky

I have that same regret! I feel like everything was SUCH a whirlwind and I was always flying here, there and everywhere. I just managed to sit down to talk to the Texas girls (Shonie, Pinky, Nadine and Laura) and we all had to get up again to go rushing off somewhere! We needed a whole day of just socializing!

And Meecher, I too forgot my underwear on Sunday morning:p Luckily, I had a spare pair in my luggage in the car and took them to breakfast with me!}(

>- New Jersey doesn't like pedestrians

You aren't kidding about this. Shelley and I got an obnoxiously angry honk when we went to go shoe shopping across the street from Italian Affair!

Some random things I learned from the Road Trip:

1. The sound of ~110 people doing basic steps at the same time is absolutely thrilling.
2. Cathe and crew are flawlessly photogenic.
3. Emily makes awesome cookies and her laugh is contagious.
4. You can get a free drink by insulting the bartender.
5. I’m not the only one who is disgusted by the idea of hotel bed spreads.
6. Trail mix is a lot of fun when you over analyze it.
7. Shelley is the most amazing person on the planet.
8. Angie looks unbelievably young for her age! }(
9. You can never have enough Cathe t-shirts.
10. Cathe is hilarious when she teaches.
11. The Texas girls are very glamorous.
12. Mark Moore is pretty hot in person! :)
13. Cathe fans are some of the most beautiful, fit and friendly women around.
14. NJ has some great home fries.
15. It’s possible to know someone for five minutes and feel like you’ve known them for a lifetime.
16. NJ has more gyms and fitness stores (i.e. Dick’s, Sports Authority) than I could have ever imagined.
17. I can get lost trying to get on I-295 when I’m at the hotel.

Shelley - I'm glad you did come sit with us. I'm an introvert and it's very hard for me to do something like that. I thought it was very brave. (probably not brave for you if you're outgoing but it would have been brave for me! ;) )

Thanks to Marla (smoogy) I went "commando" for the first time. (TMI?) I think I like it better than having to put on a thong. Ugh! I hate thongs! Thanks Marla!! :p

Yep...commando is the way to go. As long as you are absolutely SURE that there are no holes in your pants. Otherwise, it's bad news city. Eventually you will find yourself going commando all the time :)

Yes...it was great to meet Shelley in PERSON! I'd love to hang out with her for a while -- maybe some of her extrovertedness would rub off on me too!

No fair, Laura, you got Mark's autograph!!! Way to go hot mamma :)

Okay...aren't I supposed to be working today?

I was wearing white pants, otherwise I wouldn't have cared at all about the underwear issue!

And Laura, it took me some time to work up my courage to come and sit with you guys. I'm NOT at all extroverted, in fact, I'm as shy as they come, but I force myself to not let it get the best of me!

And Becky? YOU are the most amazing person on the planet;) In fact, my roommates rocked my world:D

To quote Luna:

I will never forget that sound as long as I live....it pulsed right through my very being...

Christie, did you notice how much the Cathe Team cheered you on during the relay? They got loud!!! I'm thinking they played favorites here!x( They were pretty quiet when I was doing my push-ups near them.

Shelley,

I've been searching and searching for where you said this and I FINALLY found it!

I am so glad that you did have the courage to come over to us. I truly wish we'd had more time to talk too. You are a really cool person and are a really great mom! (hey can I have a puppy too?!?!) :)

BTW sorry about the playful yet horribly inept insult I tossed your way before the relay race. I'm usually MUCH better at those, but hey lack of sleep, and tons of excitement caused a huge brain fart! I promise to do better next time! ;)

Yes Shelley, I second Nadine. That was a precious minute or two that we spent with you. And we were just beginning to talk about COOKIES!}( :7
