+ Rise & Shine MELTERS It's the Weekend! ++

Good Morning!

Happy Weekend to all:) No workout for me today, just some errands, laundry and then RelaxMax! It's so quiet around here without DH..He is the talker of the 2 of us. That is why we compliment each other so well. He called me 3 times Thursday and twice yesterday. Do you think he misses me? LOL.. We had a thunder storm last night and it rained pretty much all night long. Kelsey got me up twice to go outside, once at 12:30, then again at 2:00. Not sure what that was all about. The grass is looking pretty green so I guess we need the rain. It actually went up to 67 here, by the thermometer in my car last night when I was driving home from work.

I'm going to Memphis for training week after next. I need to get a nice light little jacket that will look good with casual business pants and jeans...any ideas?

Robin:
Yum..ribs! one of my favorite meals!:9 Sounds like you and DH had a good time up until the tire thing happened.. hope you enjoyed 4DS Kickbox/legs. One of Cathe's best for sure.

Shelly:
I love Gin Miller too..she is pretty straight forward and I can actually follow her step routines! Is this a step one? is it difficult choreography?

Jennifer:
Please please don;t get snow on Sunday or any other day!x( It's mid-April for crying out loud! Your cats are major hunters!

Shannon:
Glad the horses are used to all that weather! I pictured them getting really nervous and rustling around during a bad storm..sort of like dogs do..Is it GSL where you stand on the top of the High STep and holding a bar do about 1000 calf raises?

Leanne:
Good for you on the body fat loss! What type of scale do you have that measures this? or are you using the calipers from BFFM? That kettlecorn will do that to you..I keep playing around with the same 1/2 pound..no I worked yesterday, but it was a slow day so it was ok.

Emily:
Hope your piriformis is getting better. That pain is no picnic! Is it the impact that gets it going?

Tneah:
Take the weekend off! You deserve it after all the work you have done. Your body probably needs the rest to gear up for your maintenance period. I like Option 2!

Lainie:
So your DH is gone too? Sorry to hear you are not feeling well.:-( I think your idea to rest until Monday is a good one. You are our "resident shopper" ..help me with my jacket dilemma..please!

Have a great day...I will check in later..

Deb:)

Hi , I'm back ..

For those who are addicted to your HRM....I found this on the "Ask Cathe" forum...using the Karvonen Formula to determine your target heart rate zone.. just Google "Karvonen Formula" and do the formula. You need to know your resting heart rate to do it. It's very interesting for those of us who are anal retentive about such things and love to measure things! It sure beats the old ...220-your age theory. That one never worked for me.. this one turns out to be exactly where I am working when doing I-Treads etc. Mine is between 130 and 170.

Just random wanderings on a Sat morning...

Deb

Hello Melters.

How is everyone doing? It's been raining all night, temps dropped at work yesterday, and is cold outside. Snow is possible this weekend.
It's good that I did my yard work last weekend cause my yard is looking greener now.

Today, I must find motivation to do HCE. The good thing, for me, about #2 has lot of LM in it and the first 4 IMAX3 intervals till the end.

Thought I would get up early and workout, but I slept in instead.

BBL

Morning all~

I'm super-tired this morning. Sophie woke up at 3 with a raging fever and sore throat. I'll see how she is when she wakes up. We may be paying the walk-in clinic a visit, which I hate because it's first come, first-served and unless you get there before it opens, you wait forever.

Deb - the choreography in Intense Moves is really super-easy. And with the blasts, she shows you three different versions - hard, harder and hardest. I'm really bad at shopping and clothes, so I won't give you any fashion advice.

Jennifer - enjoy HCE!

I'm sure I'll be back and forth today.

Good Morning All!:)

Deb, I love Victoria's Secret, good prices and pretty good quality! Here is a link to the cute spring type jackets that would look good with both slacks and jeans.http://www2.victoriassecret.com/col...cgname=OSCLOJACZZZ&cgnbr=OSCLOJACZZZ&page=all

The safari look is really big this spring, so that one might be really cute, plus its stretch, so the fit would be good. I usually order the medium in most things, and I have a very large chest, so keep that in mind when or if you order.Maybe check out the Gap too. I bought a cute little white, short sleeved jacket there for really cheap and it looks cute with alot of stuff. Good luck, I love shopping when you don't need something better! Oh, and a cute trench coat always looks cool and classic, that might be your best bet!You can find them everywhere.
:) And yes, your DH really, really misses you, aren't boys cute?

Shelley, awww, poor little Sophie. I know what you mean about those clinics, ugh. Keep us posted on how she is doing. Hope you got my email, again, you are such a sweetie.:)

Jennifer, have fun with HCE, that one is hard, a little too high impact for me so it frustrates me. Another reason I don't do Kickmax anymore, I just cannot tuck jump and stuff like that.

Okay, its Saturday right? Whew. Its been a long-arse week it has, and DH is headed out today to the boat. He is meeting our new captain there and firing the old one, aka "Captain Vodka!"He will be back tomorrow, his daughter is leaving tomorrow...I have one more day of workouts today to complete my week. BBL to say hey to everyone else and to post more clothing links, cause I love to shop online.:D

Happy Saturday, everyone!

Sorry that I didn't get a chance to check back in with everyone yesterday. I had to run some errands before meeting my work pals for lunch, and then didn't get back home until late. Next Saturday we're going to a wedding on a boat, which should be fun, but I had to drive down to the store where they're registered to get a gift. I'm thinking that I'm going to wear what I call my Hoochie Mama Dress to the wedding. I'm usually super modest and never show cleavage, but I bought this dress two years ago for another night wedding, and my DH really likes it;-):

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2938668...Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6014190&P=1

I actually have it in a darker blue, with a satin sash. So do you all think it's appropriate to wear?

Gotta start Clean Max here in a bit, and then today I'll be tackling In the Ring for the second time. I worked legs yesterday, so we'll see how kickboxing goes! I've been off the Flonase now for a week, and the dizzy spells are pretty much gone. I just can't take that stuff!

Tneah -- FANTASTIC job on all your hard work! I know that you've been feeling so down about how this week has gone and about your last conversation with Mr. Trainer, so how exciting to hear that his response was so positive! I know Mitch's daughter is still there, but you really do need to bust out the champagne and celebrate, and, when you do, know that we're there celebrating with you in spirit! Will you share your before and final after photos with us? So take some time off and enjoy how incredibly HAWT and FANTASTIC you look! By the way, I love on-line shopping, too! ;-)

Deb -- How sweet that your DH has called you so much! Ann Taylor Loft always has cute little jackets that are a nice mix of dressy and casual. Oh, I also wanted to tell you that I ended up ordering these new natural lipsticks from Aromaleigh.com. and I love them! They actually feel more like a lip balm! It's my first time trying out this company, and they seem great. If you're still looking for lip glosses, you might want to check them out. I actually use the calipers, my Tanita scale, and an Omron hand-held device to track my body fat -- and they all give me different measurements! I just take the three readings each week, and just look at whether or not the fat is going down. I really need to get myself professionally tested, like Tneah suggested.

Jennifer -- Glad you slept in! Sounds like you needed the rest. Good luck with HCE today! I don't have that one, but it sounds really intense.

Robin -- Are you still feeling better? If so, maybe you can find some time to re-connect with DH over the weekend!;-)

Shannon -- Not sure if you'll be checking in over the weekend! Hope you're well!

Lainie -- Got your email and will reply soon! Is your ankle still green and swollen? That doesn't sound good! Do you think that you might need t go back to the Dr?

Shelley -- Oh, poor Sophie! I hope that she feels better! Are you doing OK, too, now that Aunt Flo us here? Hope so!

TK-- Hi in case you stop by!

Emily -- How's your piriformis today? How awful that the race last weekend exacerbated it! Can you rest a bit over the weekend?

Leanne! This is so funny, I actually looked at that dress online a few months ago!:7 So I think you have very good taste.;) And that is not too much cleavage at all, you will look stunning, especially with your toned arms. The last pics I posted are where I am at body-wise, so probably will not post anymore...my DH is sick of taking them--he got this weird attitude about it for some reason. And couldn't wait until I stopped the program which made me mad, I really needed his support. But if I decide to actually compete in the future, he better be on board with it! Kim, the trainer man, told me its real important that the people around you understand and support you during contest prep or else its almost impossible to do it successfully, and I agree. Throughout my program everyone would ask me to drink with them, and eat stuff not on my diet. You guys were the best though, so caring and supportive, I really appreciate it.
Have fun at your wedding on a boat, sounds romantic and fun. Drink a glass of the bubbly for me kay?:7

Off to do MIC I think, or Imax2, I miss Cathe and need my fix this morning.

Oh, I sent Mr. Trainer man and his assistant both flowers, as a way to express my thanks. Was that too weird? His flowers are more masculine, orchids in a black vase, hers are peonies. Whatta think?

Hello Melters.

High Fives to me!! I did HCE #2 for the first time, I did well. My only problem with it was me. On some the IMAX combos, I felt I had two left feet but I did combo 10 no problemo. Then, I felt compelled to do #3 CM again. Haven't tried 2 or 1 on CM yet. Pikes on #2 don't look easy.

Tneah-I love to shop online too. I used to buy from Victoria's Secret all the time, their jeans were my fave. For weddings and special events, I do look at their dresses.
Hope your new captain works out. Must be a nice boat(ship).

Robin-are you over your meds? Are you still feeling groggy?

Shannon-Hello.

Lainie-How are you feeling? Did you see your Doc?

Shelley-Do you do the pikes in CM #2? How is Sophie doing?

Emily-what is piniformis? without calling my Dad, who used to be in sport medicine.

Tomorrow morning before I eat big, I plan to do 4DS total body premix about 100 minutes long. Has anyone here done it yet?
Later next week, CardioPower and DoubleCardio from 4DS. Next Saturday, BM2. I have to plan or I won't do it.

BBL.

OK, since we're talking shopping again, here's my latest purchases. I got this little sweater in Evening Blue: http://www.anntaylorloft.com/catalo...Peony Pink&defaultSizeTypeFromCategory=Misses

I also got a matching lacy camisole to wear underneath. I'm wearing them now. Then I got this in Hot Pink: http://www.anntaylorloft.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=12243&N=0&categoryId=1419&Ns=CATEGORY_SEQ_1419&Nr=AND(CAT_EDITORIAL_CAT_ID:1419)&defaultColorNameFromCategory=Evening%20Blue&defaultSizeTypeFromCategory=Misses along with another lacy camisole.

I love those camisole/cardigan combos. You may also notice I have a thing for V-necks. They look better on biggish boobies.

Anyway, just a lazy Saturday at home. I got a call that my glasses came in but DH doesn't want to get up off his lazy heinie and go to the mall. I don't really either. I may go on Monday instead. I shouldn't call him lazy, though. He had a busy week and his plane was very delayed last night, so he has good reason to be worn out.

Deb, enjoy RelaxMax. I guess that will be my plan today as well. By jacket, do you mean a warmish jacket for outdoors or more a business jacket? Or one that functions as both--I guess it'll be fairly warm in Memphis by now, anyway. Of course, I suggest my favorite ATLoft: http://www.anntaylorloft.com/catalo...&categoryId=205&Ns=CATEGORY_SEQ_205&showAll=Y
Lots of cute options this season. I like this one: http://www.anntaylorloft.com/catalo...Periwinkle&defaultSizeTypeFromCategory=Misses
but they only show it in that light blue color, so it's a bit limiting, maybe. I bet that color would look good with the right jeans, though.

Jennifer, hope you don't get too much snow. You reminded me I should probably get out there and do some yard work soon. I haven't been very motivated to do that yet. I blame it on the ankle. It's convenient to have something to blame my laziness on. }(

Shelley, so sorry Sophie is sick. If you're like me, you'd rather be sick yourself than have her be sick. Hope she gets better quickly.

Tneah, ooh, I like those VS clothes. I always forget how much regular clothes they sell, but I love their stores. Good luck with the new captain--he's gotta be better than Captain Vodka! It sounds like you did an outstanding job on that program, in spite of how it stressed you go. I'm glad you get to relax a bit now!

Leanne, yeah, the ankle is slightly green and still slightly swollen. I sure hope I don't have to go back to the doctor. I'm so sick of visiting various doctors and physical therapists, etc. Ugh. That's why I've gone into super-rest this week and I'll ease back into working out (at least upper body and yoga).

Hey again!

Just finished cleaning bathrooms, and am taking a break to check in before moving on to dusting.

Speaking of shopping, I treated myself to a new black Coach purse the other day. We live right near an outlet center, and the purse was super cheap -- well, cheap for Coach! My right shoulder also gives me grief, so I bought a cross-body bag that can convert into a shoulder bag, too. It's got great pockets inside, and I LOVE it!

Tneah -- Sorry that DH hasn't been super supportive of your program! If you do decide to compete (and I think it would be so awesome if you did -- as long as it doesn't get you too stressed out!), maybe you could have a talk with him beforehand about how much you need his support and help. I'm sure he'll back you up -- and you know that your Melty pals will be here to support you all the way! Seriously, though, take this weekend off as a reward for all your hard work these past 12 weeks! What's your favorite treat kind of food? Go get some champagne and some of that food -- and INDULGE! The flowers also sound so lovely, and I don't think that it's weird at all that you sent them -- it's really sweet, and I'm sure they'll love them! How funny that we both like that same dress! I think I will wear it next weekend for the wedding, and not worry about too much showing! I picked up some of that Hollywood tape a few weeks ago, and I'll tape the front part down!;-)

Lainie -- What an adorable sweater! I've been checking out this dress, but I really don't need to be spending any money right now:

http://www.anntaylorloft.com/catalo...ory=Lagoon&defaultSizeTypeFromCategory=Petite

None of my pants fit right now, so I've been wearing a lot of dresses to work lately. I'm not really even sure what size I'm in, so need to go do some trying on. I'm sort of chesty for my size (I'm actually still in a 32D, even though that D has shrunk a bit!:-( ), and V-necks definitely look better. There is this great little book called _The Pocket Style Manual_ that I bought a few years ago that finally got me to realize what looks best on my body. How are the boys doing? Sorry that your ankle is still so painful!

Jennifer -- High 5's for doing HSC! Good for you! Oh, I love Core Max! Or, I should say that I have a love-hate relationship with it. I've noticed, though, that by doing two sections from it each week, my core has gotten a lot stronger.

Hi ladies~

I have a rollercoaster sick child today. One minute she's lying on the couch all feverish and napping, and right now she's blabbing to Grandma on her new cell phone that I gave her yesterday. Yes, I know she's only 10.... I'll explain when I have more energy.

I love all the clothes you're posting! I'm so bad at shopping. Leanne, I adore that dress. I have a weird chest though, so low cut things don't work for me. My chest bone is actually in backwards.

Tneah - I can't believe you're done! I think the flowers are completely appropriate!

Jennifer - yes, I do the pikes in CM2. I love stability ball core work.

Lainie - you have great taste in clothes. I need to come visit you so you can take me shopping! This is kind of embarrassing, but Chris buys lots of my clothes.

I'm going a bit stir crazy. And I wanted to go get those jeans today, but I guess that's out.

Hey Shelley -- Sending you and Sophie {{{HUGS}}}! Is she feeling sort of better? Do you think that you're going to try to take her in to the clinic? Maybe if she needs some things from the store (meds, soup, etc.), you could swing by the Gap and pick up those jeans. If not, I'm sure they'll be waiting for you! I bet your chest looks just great.

Now here's an idea . . . we should all meet up and go shopping! :)

Hi everyone!

Thanks so much for all the links to the great clothes! I just got back from having breakfast ( my second one so I will call it lunch for me!) with a friend that I have had for 35+ years. We started at our jobs the same day. I have stayed at it, she moved and did a lot of other things, moved back etc. We don;t see each other that often, but when we do, its a gab fest of catch up..so much fun!

I am off to Talbots, DH gave me a gift certificate for Christmas, then I got a 15% off your total purchase from them as a birthday offering so maybe I will find something there that I can try on and have before my trip.

Everyone seems very happy and chatty today:D !

Deb

Leanne, I have that book!:) I have all of those "guide to style" type books, I love me some clothes, shoes, handbags, etc...:p OMG! All your pants are too big? Well, of course they are, geez, that is great and now you have to buy all new ones. How fun is that? And expensive.x( Yeah on the black Coach bag. I love Coach, the bags are always so classic looking without being obnoxious like some of the Dior and others can be with those huge logos all over them-hate that.

Lainie, love the cardi and cami combo, so cute. I love that pink jacket too, I usually have a hard time with that cut though, so the baby blue one would be more my style. We big chested gals look horrid in those baby doll cut jackets and dresses-well at least I do. I look 9 months preggers!x(

Great job on the HE Jennifer, I did Imax 2 this morning and forgot how much I like it..its just hard enough without being too much for me.

Tomorrow is a cheat day for me. I am designating Sundays as cheat days. I will rest, and you know what I am craving? A big juicy steak for some reason, usually that would make me ill, but I think I will grill one, along with veggies and ice cream for dessert.

Talbots has really changed, and they have some super cute stuff! Have fun shopping Deb!

Hey, where is Robin?:7

Shelley, I think its cute your SO buys you clothes! If I let mine do that, I would be in "mom jeans" and big baggy shirts like he wears.x(
((hugs)) to poor Sophie and you too!

I love it when we have our chattiness going on!:)

Robin -- We miss you! Where are you at today? Hopefully you're doing something fun!

Deb -- How great to see your friend -- and how fantastic that you've kept in touch all these years! So when is your b-day?? Is it coming up soon?? Let us know!:)

Tneah -- I have a bunch of those style books, too! I just love them! I've always really loved clothes, but just sort of bought whatever. When I hit my 30's, though, I became more serious about figuring out what clothes and makeup look best on me. A couple of years ago, I even had my colors "done" by a woman that is the personal shopper for a work friend of mine. Have you had that done? Hooray for your cheat day tomorrow -- and have a HUGE bowl of ice cream! You deserve it!

OK, off to do In the Ring for the next 75 minutes . . . gulp!:)

Yeah, count me among the people who like those style books. I've got stuff like How Not to Look Fat and books from What Not to Wear (both British & U.S. versions). I also spend a good deal of time on this website: http://gofugyourself.typepad.com/ Like Leanne I used to wear just whatever (especially in college when I totally embraced the grunge look and spent a lot of time in black, flannel, combat boots, etc.). Of course, I had a naturally good figure back then and I guess I got away with it. I've gotten more careful in my 30's, though, especially after having trouble with weight after having babies. I still make some pretty horrendous choices, but DH is here to shake his head at those (then I just keep them and wear them when he's out of town ;)). I get more interested in clothes again in the spring--in winter I am mainly focused on warmth. In spring I break out my little floral skirts, my particular style (if you can call it that) which I prefer for spring and summer. The rest of the year it's mainly jeans.

Leanne, I like that dress! I was looking at some pretty dresses on the regular Ann Taylor site today, too. I liked one blue one in particular and then realized it's much like one I already own. How did you like In the Ring?--still haven't done very much of it myself.

Shelley, if you could see me day to day, you would doubt my taste in clothing! I love to buy cute stuff but half the time don't wear the cutest things I own (esp. in winter, like I said). So often it's just jeans and a sweater. Or worse I wear my workout clothes all day (esp. when I was going to PT all the time.) Luckily I've invested in some cuter workout clothes. :) Sometimes my DH is good at helping me pick out clothes. He's especially good at buying shoes. I might still get him to go to the mall later to pick up my glasses. If so, I might lure him into DSW--I need him to find me some new black heels. How's Sophie doing now? Isaac was complaining of a tummy ache this morning but seems o.k. now.

Deb, enjoy shopping!

Tneah, yeah, I couldn't personally wear that pink jacket, either. I have to stick with things lower cut to flatter the girls or not look like a big ball or box shape.

Hello Melters.

No snow yet but it's coming.

Shelley-Kudos to you on doing those pikes. One of these days...
Glad Sophie loves her phone, she must love it!!

I was watching PBS today and still am. "Zonya Health Bites" is a cooking/health show that shows some exercises. They actually showed some lady exercisng in her kitchen while the pasta was cooking. So, I gave my opinion in a email asking Zonya to use that as the starting point and not as the finished product.

Well, you all got me in the mood to shop.

BBL

Hey all,

We're having this really weird heat spell here -- it's up to 85 degrees today! Strange weather! We actually put the air conditioner on upstairs since DH is up there playing video games and I'm going to start some beading in my play room as soon as I shower (just got done doing Mop Max and Vacuum Max, after In the Ring killed my legs -- ug!).

Robin -- Boo for work! We miss you!

Deb -- Keep us posted on what you buy! Hope you find some good stuff!

Jennifer -- Aren't we good at enabling?!Do you "need" anything new that we can help talk you into buying?}( That show sounds interesting.

Lainie -- Ah, another fashion junkie! When I was in college, I was more into the Goth sort of look -- lots of black and Doc Martens. Isn't it funny how our styles change so much over the years?! I seriously doubt that you make horrendous fashion choices; I bet Brian just doesn't appreciate your unique fashion sense! I'll have to check out that website -- it looks like fun. In the Ring is fun; she breaks down the choreography much more than she does in her other workouts. You'll like it once your ankle gets better!
