Rhythmic Step section 3--why do I bother?

Cathlete
OK for like the zillionth time this morning I tried to do RS all the way through & I JUST CAN'T GET IT!!!!! I get through the first 2 combos OK--the step kick & jack & the shuffles. But when she goes into the next one--which I think is some kind of straddle/step up on the board yadda yadda yadda my two left feet get tangled up & I start tripping & stumbling.

Will I ever get to the end of this workout? x(

I deeply LOATHED this part of RS, but my feelings certainly changed once it all clicked. It only took about two dozen tries.:) Try to skip Cathe's knee-kick-hamstring curl combo before the straddle/insole and just do the knee repeater. Once you exit, use the two marches to turn sideways so you can, in turn, use the next two marches to get up on the step. Sometimes, "cleaning up" the moves for a while clears up the confusion. Talking of confusion, I hope this doesn't confuse you even more.

I can't quite picture it, but generally when I can't get a routine, I stop and march while she does it and as she starts making it more complicated, I stay with the easier moves and watch her. Even if you rewind it and do that several times, it will help you focus on her moves. When you are jumping around and all of that, sometimes its just too mcuh to do it and catch her complicated moves.

Another tip - start your workout at this part of the routine when you have more energy and focus (then reqind and start from the top or just after the workout) or add it on to the beginning of another routine. Your mind is fresh then and you are sharper on the difficult moves.

You'll get it!

Christine :)
