Review of Plyo X (posted incorrectly in other topic prior -oops)

I just started the P90X rotation, so I am going to post reviews periodically. Once after doing them for the first time and then later on.

First impression:

Difficulty: 6 - I didn't have any problems getting through this whole workout very easily. I was not sweating nearly as much as when I do Cathe's Imax workouts - -

Fun Factor: 5 - It was neither here nor there. Since there is a purpose to this workout, I will continue to use it, but its not one I would reach for very often

Choreography: VERY basic. Anyone can pick it up and do it. I followed the crazy high jumper in the back and even tried to over exert myself, but right when I felt the exercises were working, then the next one brought my heart rate down. Since P90X is more strength focused they may not want it too high, so we don't potentially burn lean muscle and fat.

Overall - 5.75 rating - very mediocre but serves a purpose, so I will continue to use it during the duration of P90X.

If you would ask me if I would choose Imax III or PlyoX to kick my booty - it would be hands down Imax III......she jumps just as much in Imax III as is done in PlyoX (imo)

differance of opinion
it is one of my favs. i sweated so much that my shirt was soaking.
every time i do plyo i can jump higher so it never gets too easy for me unlike step. once i have done imaxIII a cupple of times it gets too easy for me.step is bad on the knees so its a nice differance. when cathe does the squats front and back in imaxIII i have to move my step to have enough room. i have been doing cathe for many years and have completed p9ox classic rotation.

i give it a 10

I also agree that plyo X is a tough workout. I am in phase 3 of the classic rotation right now and it has not gotten any easier. I actually subbed Imax 3 for plyo last week, and it was easy for me. Grant it, the fun factor is not so much there, but I don't think that is what they were going for on this workout. I too give it a 10 all around. Just my opinion.

I would really like to see what you think of these workouts after 90 days and if they give you the results that you are looking for. Good luck on your journey.

That's great Laura. It really is a great program. When are you starting again and which rotation are you going to do? I plan on doing doubles in March.

i plan on starting next fri. because of xmas i was not able to start a rotation again-spending alot of time with nephew and 2 nieces. i will probably do classics again.not enough time to do doubles and i need to catch up on all the pushups i was able to do 13+weeks ago. i like to do plyox then chest back fri since plyo does not use your upper body which is needed afterwards. i like legs and back but sometimes sub cathes circuit like bc/me,lic,mm,me,etc but doing pulldowns for the upper body work instead. i feel like pulldowns are an overall for the upper.also kpc instead of kenpo. after classics, i will do lean.

I've enjoyed Plyo X, I don't think its as hard as Imax 3. I seem to be "huffing and puffing" much more with Cathe, and sweat! I feel like I burn more calories with Cathe.

Like stated before, Plyo X is much more knee friendly for me too, too much step hurts my knees too. Its nice to be able to switch it up. Fun factor- not as fun as Cathe, but I like the workout, reminds me of my old soccer practices:)

Are any of you doing the eating plan along with P90X?
I'm starting it up again (I started it and then stopped, after getting busy and ended up just using it to substitute my other workouts). I'm going on vacation in Feb. so I think I'm going to try the meal plan along with it.

Hi ladies!

Gosh I'm not getting over here much these days!

LOVE my PlyoX! I'm on week 3 of round 2. I'm an X girl for life now!
Re the diet - yes it makes a huge difference. I had gained 5 lbs over 2 plus years and lost it the first round but the big thing is I've leaned out. I'm actually able to do 10 chin ups (as of today). 1st round I could only muster up 1 the whole time.

Not sure what it is but my legs are even leaning out. This has been the toughest area for me. This round I'm doing TJ doubles - which for me (may not work for everyone).

I love the "gym" feeling of the X workouts - especially the weight work.
The key to X is the WHOLE rotation and the diet helps a lot.
Anyhow that's just my personal experience. Ill post results of round 2 in March!

Have a great day everyone!
