Resistance Bands

Hi everyone! I own a few of Cathe`s DVD`S where she uses a resistance band. Usually I will sub those exercises and use dumbbells instead but I`ve decided I need to buy one lol. I was wondering what level of resistance to get or should I get all of them to see what would be best for me? Does anyone have any advice! Thanks.

Hi there;

check your local sporting goods store to see if they sell Cathe stuff... I found a three band set of Cathe's new non-laytex bands that are really great. There are three levels of bands in the one pack for around $20. I believe that the green ones from this set are the ones Cathe and crew use in STS. I found them at Sports Chalet, but have seen them at Sports Authority and at Dicks as well... I use the heavy band for pull downs for STS sometimes when I'm feeling extra spunky :eek:

they are a great investment. If you choose to go with another brand, make sure you get ones that are 6 foot in length though... I bought a cheaper set at Walmart when I first started and didn't realize that they were only 4 foot long and pretty much good for nothing :)

if you can not find them locally, then I don't know if ShopCathe has them back in stock or not, but good luck ;)

I agree with Dani, get the set with all 3, just today I needed to use the green and the pink. And eventually, I'll work up to the strongest band. These non-latex bands are tougher than the other latex bands I already had, but seem to work really well with the STS exercises.

I ended up getting them on shopcathe.com, none of my local stores have them, and I just checked walmart.com and they don't appear to carry them.

And just a side note, the bands really work your muscles in a different way than dumbbells can, you'll feel the difference right away once you get them. Happy shopping!

The bands are great. They will challenge your muscles in a new manner. I use either heavy or extra heavy bands. The extra heavy ones I have only found at the Gym Source
