rep speed in M1

Like many of you, I've been surprised by my 1RM. It's definitely heavier on several exercises than I thought it would be. This means that my 60% 1RM is also heavier than I thought it would be. I'm not sure if I can go as quickly as Cathe & team does in M1. Is it better to stick to my 60% 1RM and go slower or should I lighten up so that I can keep up with their speed? (I haven't started STS yet; on vaca w/o 2/16 so won't be starting til 2/23. For now still doing my 1RM tests.).

So far I've done week one and my 60% of 1 rm's were really close to what I could handle. I would suggest try starting at the recommended 60% (or as close as you can since weights do not come in all increments). Have the next lower weight close by and if you can't finish out the reps drop down. In my opinion, since the first mesocycle is endurance, I would think it is more important to stay with the speed and the rep count verses a higher, but slower count.
