Hi all. My friend/neighbor told me about a natual supplement for mild anxiety/depression called Relora. I have read up on it and it sounds pretty good. I went to VitaminWorld today and got me some of those pills. They also say that I could lose a few of my stress related pounds that I have put on since I went off of Paxil.

Has anyone out there heard or tried this natual supplement before? I really have high hopes for this "drug". I need something for my anxiety, but I DO NOT want to go back on Paxil. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Kim

Have you tried SAMe? I used it for a few weeks and found some relief but then decided that I would Zoloft and am on that now. The only problem with SAMe is that it is fairly expensive. You need 1200 - 1600 milligrams per day for depression. Each 200 mg pill costs about .50 - $1. You can read more about it on the web, it's gotten great press. Sure hope I don't gain weight on Zoloft, talk about depressing me! I have heard SO many people tell me that they gained on Paxil.

Hi Meredith. Thanks for responding. I have heard about SAMEe, but what I have read seems to be more directed towards depression. I need medication for anxiety. Relora isn't expensive at all. It is $17.99 (VitaminWorld brand) for 78 pills (60 + 18 free). The package says take 3 a day, but I am only taking 2 for right now. The guy that works at VW said that 2 may be enough for me. Like Paxil or Zoloft, some people need a higher dose than others. My neighbor was on Zoloft and gained weight. But another friend of mine was and lost....it is all individual. I lost on Paxil....about 10#. When I went off, I gainned it all back....you are right, very depressing. The one side effect on Zoloft and Paxil that is bothersome to me is the sexual thing. Everyone I know that is on these has trouble "completing their end of the mission"...yah know what I mean. As soon as I went of Paxil, I got is right back. On Relora, there are not supposed to be any side effects. The VW guy said that there are 2 psychologist in my area that are prescribing Relora for the depresion/anxiety patients. It does say mild symptoms on the bottle. There is a Relora web sit...Relora.com.. It has all the research on it. Maybe look it over before you get on Zoloft. I can say from experience, when you want to get off of Zoloft, the withdrawal is just awful. My friends that went off Zoloft have said and when I went off Paxil, it was just as bad. That is why I will NEVER get on it again. I posted a question regarding this a few weeks ago and, I think almost everyone that responded...about 10...said that they had terrible withdrawal as well. There are supposodly no withdrawl with Relora, because it is all natural.

Thanks again,

Kim
