Can anyone who ever used Oatmeal for a facial give me some advice on this. My friend, said her mother has use this mask for the removal of age spot and oily skin.

I have a large box on my frig, just sitting there. And before I go messing around with mixing it. I wanted too know what kind of results you may have had. And too, how do you mix it and how many times do you mask, thanks.

Hey there!

Mix it so it's the consistency of a spreadable paste, just add small amounts of water at a time, and then use it like a regular mask. Leave it on for 10 - 15 minutes until it dries and you can feel the gunk being pulled from your pores. Then just wash off with warm water, tone and moisturize. It is kinda messy but you're skin will feel good.

I haven't used an oatmeal mask for a long time. I think it's good if you don't have problem skin and just want to clear your pores and exfoliate a bit. I usually mask 1x per week if I have the time but some people prefer 2.

Hope that helps!

Hi Lorrie.

I'll give it a shot tonight. I like the ideal that it tones and exfoliate. However, I do have problem skin, so I'm hoping it helps to my shrink pores. I've overly large pores.

Its' so weird, I have always had clear, pretty & dry skin, until I turned 40ish now my skin is so so oily at 45. And I suffer from blackheads & breakouts; and also age spots.

So, I'm hoping this mask will help alleviate some of my problems, thanks again.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-19-02 AT 03:03PM (Est)[p]I have the same problem. I'm 37 and it started around age 35. I'm assuming it's hormonal changes (Grrr!) I, too, have big pores which make me insane. I have found 2 gel type products which you can wear alone or under makeup that when smoothed over your skin visually "blend" out the appearance of large pores. The products are CCB-Paris agnes b. Touch Lissante (makeup perfector) and Neutrogena pore mattifying lotion. I prefer the CCB it really makes my pores seem to disappear. The price is $10.00 and you can order it from the website. I don't know how to put a link in here or I'd link you to the site. The address is www.ccb-paris.com. The Neutrogena runs about $15.00 but I don't think it's as good.

Right now I use ProActive products (cleanser, toner, repairing lotion and moisturizer) in the p.m. and their mask 1x per week. In the morning I use DHC soap and toner and Almay Kinetin anti-aging moisturizer. This combination seems to be the best I've found for my skin.

Good luck! Let me know how you like the oatmeal.
