Radial Nerve Injury

Hi,
I fell of my bicycle in June and suffered four fractures in my right arm.
Two in ulna, two in radius, an open fracture in each bone. I had three plates put in my forearm.

The bones have healed but now I have radial nerve palsy. I had surgery yesterday for a carpal tunnel release, radial nerve graft and hardware removal.

Does anyone have any ideas for doing some type of a workout while I recover? I know I can't do anything for a couple of weeks, but the nerve may take a year to come back. I do have quite a few of Cathe's DVD's.

Thank you

Helen, Hi :) nice to meet you. Very sorry to hear of your injuries. Sounds like you have really been through it these past months.
I personally think that with any recovery and especially with any single-sided palsy, it would be best to follow along with what an occupational therapist or your active rehab therapist of choice recommends. They will likely want you to go through some nerve "flossing" to begin with.
Perhaps some all standing (no burpees, no leaning on a cycle bike etc) cardio could get you up & moving again, although again, I would refer to your therapist.

((take care))

Thank you. I have been seeing an occupational therapist since July. I think walking (weather permitting, I live in Illinois) maybe a stationary bike might be all I can do for awhile. Thanks again.
