Has anyone done this? DH and I ran the Toledo Race for the Cure 5k last weekend, and it was phenomenal. Seeing all the survivors, women being pushed in wheelchairs that just had surgery - it was very moving. Almost 18,000 participants were walking and running.
After the race, there was a women in a wheelchair holding a pink rose and she thanked us for runnning for her and for the cure.
Since my mom is a breast cancer survivor for 13 years now, I proudly ran that race. And also, I PR'd my 5k time down to 22:49! I was thrilled.
