question on insanity after sts

I have done two 3 month rotations and have gotten great results. I've read threads on the insanity program and decided to buy it and give it a try, however I am completely freaked out about not doing weights for 2 months. Has anyone stuck strictly to the 2 month insanity program after doing sts and what have your results been?

If it scares you, don't do it that way. I didn't. I just added a day onto the end of each week of the rotation to do some upper body weights. I did minimal if any leg work. Not really needed IMO when doing Insanity. It worked out very well. Try it! :)

I agree with Fit Mommy. I have done a lot of the insanity dvds, but I have not done the full rotation. Because lifting has done soo much for me. I will not quit lifting heavy. I am 35 and basically I have to lift weights to keep any type of muscle. In the 30's is when you start losing a lot of muscle due to aging. Insanity is wonderful, but I wouldn't replace strength training for nothing. Good Luck ....

I did the Insanity rotation as is, straight after STS, but I made one day all upper body weights. I simply made room for this by transferring the 'recovery' workouts onto the end of another day's workout. I have seen increase in muscle definition, far beyond that which I saw with STS, and I found STS AMAZING!
I think the change is good for the body :)
Oh, and Insanity is awesome :)

what about adding a total body weight workout one day like muscle max or is it not necessary doing a weighted lower body workout. I haven't even had time to sit and watch the dvds yet to see what all's involved in them, but just watching previews it looks like it does work your legs pretty good. I do agree that its a good idea to switch things up to keep your body guessing. Like I said, I did two 3 month rotations and am currently doing an undulating one, so I suppose its prob time to do something else for a while.

i found it hard to add in a lower bodyworkout. it was way too challenging for my legs! i did insanity 2 mo and got great results in upper and lower body. i do not think its necessary to add in mm,me, or anything else.

laura, so you just did the 2 month insanity rotation as is with no weights or other workouts? did you lose any muscle gains you had gotten with sts?
