Question on hand position during deadlifts

Hi Cathe-

I was doing an oldie, but goodie today, PS legs. When I got to the deadlift part of the workout, I tinkered a bit w/ my hand position when holding the barbell.

Instead of holding the barbell w/ palms facing towards my legs, I reversed them so that my palms were facing outward.

For some reason, I was really able to feel the movement much more than when doing it the "original" way. It was nice!

I wanted to see if you knew if this something that would compromise safety/quality of the exercise or if you thought this might be OK to do.

Thanks in advance, Lynn M.

Hi Lynn! You can do them that way too as long as your arms are comfortable and your overall form does not change. I hold the bar like that when I am doing a compound move of a deadlift into a bicep curl.
