Question for low brow coffee drinkers

I am looking for a coffee making contraption (can you tell I don't touch the stuff) for my mother's birthday and I'd like recommendations if you have them.

She has a Farberware percolator that brews coffee like water now (after doing a little research I have learned that Farberware isn't what is used to be). She needs a small, simple to use replacement contraption. She drinks grocery store brand ground coffee so pricey Krupps or that Hamilton Beach Brew Station would be a waste. Any suggestions?

DH and I replaced our Bunn last year with a $30 Mr. Coffee coffee maker and we haven't had any complaints with it...and we're even kinda snobbish about our coffee.

I recently purchased a "Michael Graves" Hamilton Beach series from Target for $42. It was a CR Best Buy in Consumer Reports recently.

Beavs, you can probably find a plain old Mr Coffee or something very similar for less than $20 at Wally World or Kmart.

We had a few Mr. Coffees and even ground our own french roast to put in it. They worked very well and lasted quite a long time for the price.

We've currently had two Cuisinarts from Costco - about $80 and they are nice but I'm not sure the coffee comes out much different. They do match my stainless kitchen though !

I love my 1 cup at a time brewer! It's awesome. The only thing is you have to keep buying the K-cups. But, you can get teas, coffees and cocoas.

Just a suggestion if you're thinking about buying one that grinds the beans, make sure you can grind the beans the night before. My Mom had one that would grind the beans but only just before it brewed. Nothing worse than waking up the whole household at 6am with the sound of the grinder

Hey Beavs!!!

I've had the same Mr. Coffee "contraption" for 12 years now. Yes, I said 12 years!!! Still brews my grocery brand coffee like a champ.
