Question for Honeybunch (or othes)

I am wanting to take the ACE PT test in August, but I haven't ordered the materials yet (I ordered the lifestyle and weight management consultant book because that is what I really want but you need the PT certification first...) So do you think 2.5 months is enough time to prepare for the test? Or should I take it in November instead? I was hoping to take the lifestyle consultant test in Nov.
What do you think? Is it doable? (I'm very disciplined so studying won't be a problem) Ace recommends 3-6 months...
Thank you!

Dear Caricampbellcool:

I did it in exactly that time frame last year. I budgeted my study time so that I worked on it every day for a couple hours or more. I passed with 84%. I could afford to do that time wise because being a school employee I was only working part time last summer. It can be done, but I sometimes wonder if I might have retained more of the material if I'd studied longer.

I took 8 weeks, and also used the materials from Exercise Etc. They had a weekend workshop, pre-workshop worksheets and post workshop worksheets. I felt that was plenty. I would HIGHLY recommend using their resources, which are geared specifically toward passing the CPT test. I felt very well prepared.
