Question for Hair Dressers re: Flat Irons

I have coarse, shoulder length naturally wavy hair, my current Flat Iron even on the highest setting does nothing but make my hair static-y. I have a ceramic flat iron from Revlon.

Which flat iron do you recommend?? I've heard Chi or Baby Bliss. Any thoughts on these or others? I'm expecting to pay about $100.

Flat Iron

I use a Chi. It really works well on my naturally kinky hair. Smooths and straightens with one pass. It is important to use some sort of heat shield to keep from frying your hair. My hair stylist says no need to pay for expensive stuff, a leave in conditioner works fine. That has worked well for me for 2 years now.

Flat iron

Hello,

I have used flat iron and was happy with it. It's not a wordly known brand GHD. This is a brand I would recommend if you need a very high temperature device to use on virgin hair.

We know high temperature can damage hair in long term. That being said I am personally considering purchasing the l'oreal steam pod, claimed "not damaging hair" I have not used it myself but it has good review on you tube.

It work on any type of hair including afro hair:cool::eek:
