Question for Cathe or Educated Crowd

Hi everyone. Here's my situation. My husband and I looking at going to Jamaica in March as a second honeymoon. We never really had a first as we were broke. I really would like to lose some fat around my middle area before going. My question is this. Since I work at home with a very sedentary job (medical transcription) is it okay for me to workout for 1 1/2 to 2 hours per day. I would split this up by doing 1 hour in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. If I do this, what type of workouts would be best. I'm not a runner, so please don't tell me to run. I can walk, however. :) I know my diet may have something to do with this, but honestly since I started working at home as opposed to working in the clinic is when the fat came on. I actually only gained 2 pounds since working at home, but have gained inches all over. I'm sure it is more because of my sedentary work as oppoesed to diet. I eat much cleaner now than I did when I worked in the clinic, but I still look worse than I did then. I appreciate any opinions or even rotations. I don't want to have burnout, but working out for 1 hour per day is just not really doing much. I think I need to get up and move more.

Thanks, Kelley

Hi, Kelley! Walking is a great workout. Just walk quickly enough to feel your breathing increase. Clean up the diet too! And don't neglect strength training since building muscle increases your metabolism. Make sure you eat breakfast and two or three balanced meals throughout the day and you'll be looking hot for your Jamaica vacation. And have a wonderful time!
