Question for BFL'ers

Is this a workout like Bill Phillips is talking about in BFL:

Treadmill and on an empty stomach

5 min warm-up
25 minutes of 30sec sprints followed by 30-45sec of recovery
5 minutes of jogging
3 minutes cool-down

Eat a protein/carb meal 1 hour later.

How many times a week should I do a workout like this?

I don't know if this is a new workout but it isn't the one that he explains in his book.
I use to do:
2 min warm up
1 min at a level 6
1 min at level 7
1 min at level 8
1 min at level 9
repeat 3-4 times then when you are about to be finished try and reach for your 10! You have to give it your all.

It's intervals, which have been around alot longer than Bill Phillips.
Also, the empty stomach thing is debatable. I personally eat yogurt before workouts and I would recommend at least a glass of juice.
Eat a protein bar right after your workout along with water.
