Thanks Colleen, apester, Amy and dorothyrd for your kind words and advise, I truly appreciate it!
I had no idea that so many dogs had adverse reactions to K9Advantix, never even thought about it, I trusted my vet. However, after my dogs got sick, I did some research on the Internet and I was stunned as to how many dogs have reactions to it. It seems like everyone on the forum had much better experience with Frontline.
I think the problem with giving any drug to pets is, that they can’t talk, you can only guess as to what happened. Is your cat doing okay, Amy?
Aside from the 3 dogs, we also have three cats, that’s why it’s even more aggravating because the vet knew about the cats, and they still prescribed it, they just told me to “keep the cats away until the Advantix dries”. No word that the active ingredient in Advantix, Permethrin, has horrendous effects on cats (seizures, death), because they can’t metabolize it.
Hi Suz, yap, I think you did me a huge favor to get Gizmo, because it gave me an excuse to get Scooter and aside from marrying my husband and having my kids, he is the best thing that ever happened to me. He is just the cutest!! My husband keeps joking that I pay more attention to the puppy than to him – wonder if he is really joking??
Scooter keeps following me and jumps on our bed in the morning, and pounces on ME (not my DH) and gives me wet puppy kisses when it’s time for his run which would be around 4 am x( . So I am on a pretty regular exercise schedule now, less Cathe though, but maybe I can teach him to do IntervalMax with me.}(
I take him with me everywhere (at least wherever dogs are allowed), sometimes he even goes to work with me. I should promote him to marketing director and make him tax-deductible – hmmmm, there is an idea, wonder what the IRS would say to that. :+
The pictures of your dogs are just too cute, Gizmo is adorable, especially the ears and the tongue thing are adorable. Funny how a puppy can find their way into our hearts, isn’t it? Keep me posted on how Gizmo (love that name, by the way) is doing.
Take care,
Carola
