question about slim series

I recently bought the slim series but have only viewed them. they look really easy , but i have read and heard good reviews. i'm worried if i try a rotation of this i will only lose strength gains and gain weight . is light weight training really going to give me a good workout ? I interested in any ones experience with this series and what results they got so i can decide to keep them or return them . thanks ;)

Nope, Slim Series is not a beginner series. They are different from Cathe. I would say they are, of course, not as difficult as most Cathe workouts, but they are certainly not for beginners.

I think it depends on your body type and what works for you whether they will be effective. They are low weight/high rep. I use them in combination with Cathe, the Firm and others. They are full of lunges, squats and kicks, as well as reistance band work. Anybody that does them with ankle weights (Firm it Up for instance) and still calls them beginner, is obviously way more advanced than I! :)

I have Slim Series as well, and would agree that these are most definately not beginner workouts. They are tough. Debbie's all about endurance when it comes to her resistance training. I was shocked at how little weight I needed with her workouts to feel a serious burn in my muscles. I haven't done any of Cathe's weight routines yet, but I can tell she is probably different in her style than Debbie is, but I can't necessarily say who is "harder".

But I can speak from experience when I say Debbie's workouts are intense, and I would consider myself an advanced exerciser at this point. I would recommend them to anyone...especially someone who enjoys more of the lower weight/high reps type workouts...when it comes to those types of workouts Debbie knows what she's doing!!

They are good for lower body work, building endurance and strength wirhout building bulk. They would work well for a Freestyle-type program.

Upper body, not so good, IMO.

I tried doing their rotation when I first got them, and not only was there not enough upper body work for me, I suffered some overuse problems in my elbows.

I do enjoy them, and sometimes when I'm not in the mood for another workout, and don't want to think, they are perfect.

When I do them, I use the "music off" option and play my own music (and follow that beat). Makes them much more motivating and interesting for me.

I also avoid the 'double time' reps on upper body, which I think contributed to the elbow problem.

"Firm it Up" is an excellent lower body workout, IMO. Chellenging even without weights.

Cool it Off is a nice stretch.

The other workouts are so similar I can't keep them straight, but there are differences between them.

Keep them!
They are tough and very effective. I usually use 2-3 heavier the Debbie and sometimes I feel like I'm dying.
I like using SS after an intense Cathe cardio workout (like MIC) if I feel like I need some toning that day.
