Question about Shrugs (CTX vs PS)

Hi Cathe,
Just got CTX and absolutely love it! My question is regarding the weight used for shrugs. I remember you saying to use a light weight when doing shrugs otherwise you could develop a bulky look, but in CTX it seemed like you suggested a heavier wieght. Can you explain? Just want to make sure I am using the appropriate resistance. Thank you!

Hi Chloe,
I am not Cathe, but maybe I can help. I am doing a CTX rotation right now and I believe you are utilizing the shoulder muscles more in that lift with your arms out in front of you at a 45 degree bend, so you can handle more weight working the shoulders. When doing the PS series you are standing straight up and the hand weights are at your side so you work the trapezius muscles more, which are the upper portion of the back/neck area. And Cathe says not to use heavy weight for that area. Hope I have helped. Amy Jo
