Question about Omron Fat Analyzer...

Fit_mommy

Cathlete
So I was putting in my stats and according to the book I should be using this thing in "athlete" mode!? I almost died laughing! Are they insane?? Do the rest of you that have this thing have it set at athlete?

Curiously yours,

I don't have one, Wendy, but I'm curious, is it difficult to use?

Do you guys see accurate results with it?

Marie

I don't have the Omeron but my foot scale and caliper tell me to put mine on athletic mode.

Why is that funny...? You are an athlete the way you workout!

Sarah-

Well, strictly based on my work outs I guess I could see it but I sure as heck never LOOKED like an athlete I'll tell ya! That's why I find it funny. Now you on the other hand...you LOOK like an athlete!

Marie-

I didn't find it hard to use. The directions are pretty simple. Once you set up your profile, taking the measurement is super easy!

Oh, Wendy...that is such horse sh!t!LOL!!! You do to look like an athlete! You just see yourself differently as the rest of the world does...we all do it. Ask anyone here...they will tell you I am right and you look like the bad ass that you are!

Wendy ,WE Are Athletes !!!! Thats why we NEED the analizer !!! I dont care what I weigh ,just care about that body fat ...be gone .LOL .. So about the heart rate monitor .... Let me know how that goes ... My next tool !!! }( }(

Mary...Well, dummy me FORGOT to use the HRM! I was sooo pumped to do the work out that I never even thought of the HRM until I was half way through the work out! I don't even know how to use it yet! I'm such a dope! LMAO! I need to sit down today and learn how to use it so that I can put it on tomorrow for...BOOT CAMP!!! }( :7

Sarah...You are sooo right that I certainly don't see myself the same way others do! Thanks for setting me straight. :)

ETA: Question: How often should one use the fat analyzer???

Wendy , I would guess Once a week ,.. I will know more when I get it . Oh shoot no HRM today ,Well let me know how it goes . .Good Luck .. Hows little Joey ? My little Joey will be 4 July 17th . Fun Fun :) :) .I just might have to get one of those HRM .My credit card never stops screaming at me ...LOL}( }(

I use my Omron every morning when I wake up. When I was away visiting my parents, I used it twice a day at times. Very paranoid that the fat is going to sneak up on me as I like to remain very controlled as I was eating dinner there alittle later than usual and not doing as much cardio. Anyhow, I find that the Omron is very accurate as I have the caliper too.

Thanks Charlotte! I'll do it every morning for a week and see if it fluctuates at all and then take it from there! It's such a neat little gadget!:7

Now I am picturing Charlotte sitting down to dinner...fork in one hand, Omeron in the other!!!:7

Charlotte, you don't have a thing to worry about!!! Your drive and dedication will 'scare' the fat away!

Sarah,

Well not exactly, but one night I was having a nightmare that my body fat was really high and I was so out of it that I wasn't sure I was dreaming or not so I got up at 3am to take my body fat measurement. It's true, I am really obsessed, huh?

Charlotte~~

Yes, if you are doing Cathe you are athletic. I want one of these, I think. I bought a Conair scale. It had me at 21% and the weight and bodyfat changed within minutes. Incidentally when I told my family this they could not beleive it was that high. Some experienced people could probably look at us and tell. I always do these things as soon as I wake up in the am. I have the Accumeasure digital caliper and it had me at 9.6 % and then two weeks later it had me at 8.9%. Which I was working to lose bodyfat but also lost weight which was not a goal for me. So I guess you just find what works for you and know if you have gained or lost by the consistency of the device. I alway have went by what I see in the mirror. Recent talk about these things has made me want to try them. I think the only true measure that I have seen is hydrostatic measuring. Also I have heard a, sp., Dexascan is accurate.
