Question about no rest week in new rotation

Cathe, I noticed there is no rest week between mesocycles on the 3 month rotation. It seemed to have been stresses and encouraged when we were doing STS Strength Series.
Can you give your thoughts on the pros and cons of both.
Thanks so much.

BTW, I am loving all the workouts. The first workout I did was MMA Kickboxing and thought, hmmm, not so bad . . . and then I quickly changed my tune.

Thanks for your reply.

Hi Lina,

Not Cathe, but I posted the original question on the blog about whether or not we should take a rest week between mesocycles. I placed the rotation in my calendar in the Workout Manager and it does insert a rest week between Mesocycles. So I am assuming it is still encouraged. But I would still love to hear from Cathe if she feels there are any pros or cons one way or the other.

Thanks, Maria. I checked W/O manager as well. I'm so glad the rest week is in there. I did the first workout today and I'm thinking I could use one already :)
I'm really excited this time around as I often skipped a cardio workout when I did STS Strength before.
Good Luck to you!

I think most likely Cathe didn't insert a rest week as I feel that each Meso could stand alone on their own. For instance I thought of just doing M2 for January. So if you're just doing a 4 week cycle then a rest week wouldn't be mentioned.

hmmm, that is a good idea, mommapew. hadn't thought of that. i am really not up to doing this intense rotation right now. i may just use your idea for feb. i kinda burned myself out on STS the 2nd time i did it. i need to take a bit more time off before attempting it again. it does take so much concentration, and is so difficult. but, i really do love STS. so, anyway, thanks for the great idea.
