question about lucky jeans' sizing

I was wondering whether the sizes are the same between styles. I got my first pair of Lucky jeans from Costco for $40. I couldn't pass it up! They are the Lowered Peanut style, which is probably discontinued since the Lucky website doesn't sell them. They are probably similar to the Easy Rider style in that it is roomier in the butt and thigh, but it is very low rise. They fit perfectly, especially the waistband. They hug the hip without being causing the "muffin top" look. So would I be able to get other styles in the same size and they should fit?

Thanks!
Elaine

Elaine,

I don't think the lowered peanut is similar to the easy rider. I have both and the lowered peanut are definately a snugger fit. I've seen them advertised as a slim fit and I would agree with that although it is a comfortable slim fit! I love the easy rider. They are so comfortable and roomy. I own about 3 or 4 pair of them!

That being said, I recently ordered a pair of sweet and low and I don't care for the fit at all. They are very tight in the butt and thighs yet were advertised as relaxed fit.

I've come to the conclusion that I need to try on jeans in a store to determine which ones I like before I order them over the internet...

I have two pair of Luckys in the Easy Rider fit. Both are 4's but one 4 is smaller than the other.

Thanks for the info. I guess I will have to actually go to a store and try them on. I got lucky with my Costco ones; they fit perfectly. I think these will be my "comfortable" pair. I do want to get a butt-hugger pair, for those days I'm feeling brave.

Hi Elaine,
Were the jeans you got at Costco true to the size you normally buy in other jeans? I've seen these at Costo but am hesitant to buy them since you can't really try them on there. I'm usually a 7 or 9 in jeans so I'm just wondering if they run true, tighter, or looser...

Thanks,
~Tracy

Hi Tracy,
I got a size 28 (6), and it sits very low waist (rise 8"), lower than most of my jeans. The waistband fits perfectly. I don't have much of a waist (my waist measures 28", my hips 34"). I'm not sure if it runs true to size because I don't think many other jeans run true to size! In junior sizes, I wear 5-7 (because my thighs can't fit into the pant legs), but in brands like J Crew or Banana Republic, I fit 2-4. I would go by the hip measurement: size 6 = 34" and increase/decrease accordingly. Also, the butt and thigh is roomier. However, size 6 was the smallest size available at my Costco.

Hope that helps!
Elaine

I also got the lowered peanuts Lucky jeans at Costo. I normally wear a size 4 (gap-old navy), so I bought the 4's and the 6's, took them both out to the car and tried them on LOL!... the 4's fit perfectly, so I took the 6's back. All of my Lucky jeans are a either a size 4 or a size 6 depending on the style. I also agree that the easy riders are "alot" roomier than the lowered peanuts, I could probably wear a 2 in those. So, my best advice is to try on a bunch and see what fits you best.

I prefer the Lil Maggie fit--LOVE LOVE LOVE those jeans. I always order a size up in jeans, especially stretch jeans. I take a 27/4 in Lucky's--although according to my friends their too big (something about a gape in the rear & the world's ability to see my undies  ). But I've tried the 26/2s & they are way too snug for my taste.
