I am new to Cathe and I am hoping someone can help me.

the only workouts of cathe I have are:

Timesaver and Pure strength ( I have not received them yet)

my question is should I buy the whole body blast series plus something else? I am wondering if I should buy the whole series for the increase in cardio. I don't think i am getting in enough challenging cardio ( I usually just walk).

I am also thinking about getting her new dvds when they come out. I just can't decide if I should get the advanced workout or not.

thanks for any help

Hi There, ncmom!

Before anyone offers ways to help you spend your money-which we are all quite good at, by the way!, you'll probably want to tell us more about yourself.

For example, are you new to step workouts, or just new to Cathe? Also, what are your fitness goals? This way, we'll be better able to tell you what workouts will fit your goals.

BTW - does ncmom stand for North Carolina? I'm in SC, so that caught my attention!

Hi, I too am new to Cathe. I have Timesaver, PUB/PLB on DVD, and CW, Step Heat and CTX 10*10*10 on VHS. I got 10*10*10 first to see what kind of cardio of Cathe's I would prefer. I was surprised that a step-cardio klutz like me would actually "get" Cathe's choreography! I also think her take on kickboxing is wonderful and am thinking of getting the KPC/Leg and Glutes DVD. But I learned that Hi/lo is not for me.

So you may want to wait until you get the Timesaver DVD and see what you like in it. It has all three forms of cardio and it will be a good "sampler" for you. Then you can make a more educated decision about your next purchase.

Just my opinion. I've been a lurker for quite some time and I know this board will eagerly tell you to get them all!

I am an intermediate exerciser. I am not new to step just Cathe. I need to lose 30 lbs. The parts of my body i would like to change are my thighs and stomach. I need something that I can easily modify since I can't do high impact because of my knees.

BTW- I am from Nc

I have a bad knee, (although with time and patience it has gotten much much better) and I have found that I can modify almost any of Cathe's step tapes, kick box, or strength training--actually the more Cathe stuff I got, the better at modifying I got, because I learned more and got more creative about substitutions. The only thing I have had trouble with modifying is hi/lo.

The nice thing is that gradually I have had to modify less and less as the muscles around my knee have gotten stronger--I just did IMAX I with almost no modifications. When I first did it, about 15 months ago, I modified it significantly--no jumping during the step portions and getting on our ski machine during the intervals--just 1 example.

Anyway, this does not really answer your question--just wanted to say that I have found Cathe really easy to modify and yet have something to work up to.

best of luck choosing!
