Question about Body rx

Hi Everyone,

I have been lurking around this board for a while, but have never posted until now.

I decided to try the body rx program, my first day was Friday. I have been following the high protein, but eating a little less carbs than called for. Since Fri. I have gained 4 pds. Has this happened to anyone else, I am seriously considering going off it before I end up gaining more weight.

I have been exercising with weights and cardio for the last couple of years. I have been "clean eating" for a couple of months now, so basically I just added some more protein to my diet (a protein shake, a protein bar in the afternoon and a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese). So, I am not really sure what the problem is other than that maybe it really is too many calories for my body.
I just ordered the S&H series, but in the meantime I have been doing Leaner Legs, PH and upper body from BodyMax, along with some cardio (rthymic step/powerstrike 1 &2).

I wanted to know if anyone else experienced the same thing. I didn't think I would necessarily lose in the first cycle, but I also didn't expect to gain.

Hi Ali! Can't say for sure what the problem is for this weight gain. Some of the people on the msn bodyrx board have gained weight but if you stick with it you'll see the most dramatic changes taking place in Cycle 3 which is fat burning. Are you sure your getting the required 30g of fiber per day? This is so important. You can come in under the carb grams that's listed for your recommended weight which your already doing. Are you taking in a Yellow carb every day? The # listed for carbs is a limit not a target to shoot for but you do have to target the protein and fiber. I personally haven't seen any weight gain; if anything I've gotten a little leaner. I'm into Cycle 1 5th week. As far as the weight training goes, you must adhere to his book and how he wants you to train. We'll be seeing very good results in Cycle 3 but we have to stick with it. Thank you for your advice. I think I will send Dr. Connolly an email. I have been on a high fiber diet for the last few months as well, so I am definitely getting in the 30 grams a day. You are right, I just need to stick with it and I am sure I will start to see results shortly. I just got S&H today (I absolutely love ordering from Cathe.com, I ordered it on Sun. and it was here waiting for me when I got home today-talk about quick service!), so I will start that tomorrow!
