Question about 4DS (I know, I'm behind the times!)

Hi Cathe,

My question is actually about the upper body pre-mixes on 4DS. Yesterday I did the pre-mix of shoulders, chest and triceps. It was so hard because those are my weaker upper body parts. For the last several months I have been doing to wt. training from the original workouts. I have gotten pretty strong, and can keep up with you on most exercises. However, when I mixed them up like that I couldn't lift nearly as much. Do you think it is better to do the original workouts and lift more weight, or shake it up and do less?

Also, I am wondering about the possibility of muscle imbalances since I am much stronger on back and biceps which is the other pre-mix. Could that become a problem?

Thanks for everything. I have been watching the STS youtube segments, but I haven't started that program yet.

Hi Rachel! What you are experiencing is shock training. That is a good thing. If you rearrange your exrcise order you will always find it to be harder because you are always your strongest when you first begin your workout. Fatigue starts to set in as you gt through your workout so the last xercise is not nearly getting the fresh strength and energy your first exercise did. So changing the order around gives you better all around strength. I suggest doing both versions of the workout for all around variety in strength, stamina and muscle confusion benefits.

We all have our stronger muscle groups but if you are giving equal training time to all body parts you should not experience problematic imbalances.

Take Care :)
