Pyramid Upper Body Abs - KILLER!

I just did PUB abs and the core premix from Bootcamp and my abs are on fire! I still, however, cannot complete the abs in PUB. I want to know if there is anyone here that can complete that ab routine? I can get through the 1st 12 inverted pykes but then I have to stop because I just can't do anymore. I sit there and watch Cathe & Crew in total amazement that they just keep on going and going... Like the energizer bunnies! Geez!

I HATE that I can't complete this workout, it is killing me!!! LOL!
 
I thought about this today actually. I use to have trouble with roll-ins but I don't anymore.I think it is b/c I have loaned out my PUB workout and now I just do the roll-ins from CM.Before when I would do roll-ins it would be harder b/c I had just finished UB work.
But I don't think they will ever be easy.

Hi Deb! It's definitely something you have to build up to. I was able to do the full PUB AB work after a few tries and haven't done it in awhile. When I went back to it, I also could only get thru the first set of pikes. Hmmm, maybe we need to challenge each other, eh? Woo-Hooo for you for putting Bootcamp core with it. You are a HARD worker!

I love this ab workout because it's so thorough, tough and short! I usually do it once a week.

I can do all of the inverted pikes, but I'm shaking at the end! When I first got the workout, I watched Cathe and crew do the pikes and lift up one leg and I didn't even know where to start! I liked having something to work up to.

Sometimes I can do this and sometimes I can't! :) I struggle with this ab workout if I do all of PUB first as my arms are usually too tired to hold me! :) :)

Try the plank work from the S&H series. That is some of the hardest stuff I have done yet.

I can do any other ab workout of Cathe's and hold the planks as long as she can. I love the ab work in the S&H series. But PUB, forget it. I just can't do the whole thing. My upper body just gives out. If it wasn't for that I'm sure I could complete it.
 
isn't it funny how one segment is so hard for some of us and easy for another??? ;) we need to trade the "easies" so I can do plankwork and you can do PUB abs!! :)

Hey Deb!

The "Deb" who is interested in the challenge! Ha! Lots of Deb's around! Do you want to plan to do PUB ABS 2X/week? Maybe do them in the evening or whatever time you haven't just lifted because I agree with Jo that they are hard to do after UB work. Want to just start out doing them 2x/week along with any other AB work you want to do on other days? I think this is doable for me. I teach 4X/week and we do ABS every class. (I will start tomorrow and then next week, do them 2X. How's that?)

Sounds like a plan, however, I need to listen to my low back. It gets irritated sometimes when I do too many inverted pykes. But I'll try this and see how it goes. When you complete it for the first time, let me know. I'll do the same!!!
 
This one will take you awhile till it gets easier - it was my first introduction to pikes. They DO get easier, as to the ones where you lift one leg after you come down from the pike.
Just Do It! :)
