PUSH UP CHALLENGE

With all of the recent buzz on the board regarding straight-leg versus bent-leg push ups, my good friends over at the clean eating check-in and I thought it might be fun to start a PUSH UP CHALLENGE!

The last time (several months ago) that I tried to do straight-leg push ups, I did three. The other night, after readying Lori's thread about her push up competition with her DH, I decided to try again and I made it to TEN! I was so impressed with myself!

I am getting married in 16 1/2 weeks, and by my wedding day, I wanna be able to do 20, maybe even 25, straight leg push ups. If I increase one per week each week, then I'm there!

Anyone interested in this challenge? If several are interested, we can start a check in.
 
Oh, Katie. WHY NOT?!?!? I'm in. I'm going to drop tomorrow morning before my cardio workout and see how many toe push ups I can do without stopping. I'm thinking, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, 30. I can do all the GS push ups on my toes without an additional rest, so I think I SHOULD be able to start with 30 tomorrow. We'll see!

If this posts twice I'm sorry, I thought I posted but it never came up???

Count me in Katie! I can't do toe push-ups, VERY frustrating!x(
So maybe this is just what I need to get going!!!
And watch out Kate...I did a whopping 5 push-ups tonight! :7
 
So whats the deal? Everyone set a goal and a timeline? I would like to be able to do more then the 35 I did the other day....so lets say my goal is to double that.Ugh (can't beleive I just wrote that)by April or May. I to can do all of the pushups in GS so Im thinking I should be able to pull this off. DH isn't going to like the next competition!

I would say just set yourself a time line and a goal. For me, it's my wedding date (5/25/08), and I want to be able to do, hmmmmmm, 22 from my toes by then! YIKES!

I will start a thread on the check-ins forum.
 
Oh, Lori. Now I have to compete with you HERE too? LOL

OK....This morning after cardio, I did 27 (and 1/2, but that one half wasn't all that pretty, lol). So my goal will be to do 45 by Katie's wedding day! lol (couldn't think of a good goal date, so 05/25/08 is perfect.)

Katie - 5/25 is a great day! It is my DS's birthday!!

ANyway, I'm in. I really need to get up on the toes more often. I fall to the knees when no one is looking, like DH. Right now, I can do about, say 30 maybe, w/ good form. MAYBE. Let me check later today and I'll incorporate it into my workout somehow!!
