Anyone tried it? It's apparently a new no calorie sweetener on the market that is derived from the stevia plant. I picked up a small box at the food store the other day. It has the single serving pkgs in it. Each small pkg is supposed to equal the sweetness of 2 tspns of sugar. Um...NOT! I still need to add to it. But anyway, I digress....what I really want to know is would this stuff be a better (meaning healthier) alternative to splenda or is it too processed to matter?
I don't know about PureVia, but I'm guessing it's probably like TruVia, which is also a zero-calorie stevia derivative. I was listening to one of Jillian Michaels' podcasts a while back and someone asked her if TruVia was better than Splenda. Her take, if I remember correctly, was that anything processed probably isn't super great, but that she'd recommend anything over Splenda.
That's pretty much the extent of my knowledge on the topic. But just wanted to share, for what it's worth.
