PUB--up only or down only?

I finally got the Intensity Series this week. I'm going to try Pyramid Upper Body tonight. I haven't been weight lifting like I should, so I'm a little out of shape. Considering that, I thought I would do one of the premixes rather than the entire work out in the hopes of limiting DOMS to a manageable level.

Having said that, what do you think would be better--pyramid up only or pyramid down only? I can't decide.

If I don't do the workout as produced, then I do Pyramid UP. How ever if time permits do the whole thing. Just modify the weight. Start with lighter weight than you normally need and add small amounts. The workout is quite effective at sculpting muscle if done as produced. Yes, you will get DOMS. I have had this in my rotation periodically since it first came out and I still get DOMS (I have increased my weights over time.)

For me, when I do the up premix I can't lift as heavy when I get to the top because my muscles are already somewhat fatigued. That's why I usually do the down premix, so I can lift really heavy right off the bat.
