PUB Stability Ball Question

Hi Cathe! Are the crunches in PUB where you are holding the stability ball (the move where you first come all the way up and then do a partial crunch) supposed to be explosive or are they more of a controlled move?

When I make the move more explosive, I can come up pretty high (and still feel it in my abs quite well). If I do them in a more controlled manner, I can't come up as high so I slow them down a bit. Which way are you doing them in the workout?

Hi Susan! Both ways are acceptable. I actually alternate between both. When being more explosive, the muscles will "fire" differently causing a slight variation to the exercise. It is possible to also give you a little more range of motion in this manner(side note: while a little momentum will occur, be sure to keep good form and complete control. Also on the lowering phase, lower your body down with control instead of falling back to the floor). Have "fun"!
