Psycos on the road

Ok,this happened the other night.I need to vent.

I was driving home from work and this guy pulls out on me. Well, I was up set. Then he proceeded to drive on the wrong side of the road for about 2 miles..Now this is a windy semi back road that is pretty heavily traveled.
Well, I wanted to call 911 but was afraid to get close in case another car was coming.I could not get his plate.

About the 2 mile mark 3 veicles were coming and literally were off the road to avoid hitting him then he went back into the right lane.Thank god it was at a part that had no guide rail or ditches...

Now, this is not Europe...
What do you do when someone is driving like this. They were pulling a Nicole Richie...
This really scared the crap out of me....This is also a heavily deer infested road... A kid had one kill him a week ago . It jumped off a bank in through his truck and out the back. Broke the boys neck...

What would you have done???Would you have called 911 anyways. I could see the color and type of car, jut not the plate from 1/4 mile back.
I wanted to get close badly to get a plate, but did not want to be in the middle of a head on colission..
Any other time the cops are on that road sitting somewhere...

AArgh. I can bet he was wasted...

Anne,
My mom was just stopped by the police this morning for doing exactly what you described. She is in her 80's and lives alone about 8 hours away from me. We tried to get her to stop driving in Oct. Now the police have made her stop by taking her car and license away. I don't know if the police saw her, or someone called them, but I'm glad they were there before she killed herself and/or someone else. Call the police. And try not to judge the driver. They may be drunk, they may be sick, they may be old. You just don't know.

Do you know if the highway patrol has a direct number? I would tend to call that number rather than 911. Just because. And if you're calling from your cell, it would probably be faster, although again, I don't know.

I reported someone once on a state highway. I did not have the number for the highway patrol, but while I continued to drive I dialed information (411) and asked for the highway patrol then was automatically connected. However, I was close enough to get plates, and make, model & color of the vehicle.

I would have definitely called the police! You can always tell them the make, model, color of the vehicle as well as what direction they are heading. They are endangering lives, so I would have no problem with the 911 vs different number, they can always connect you to the other number.

DH calls when we follow wreckless drivers. One time a beat up white van pulled out and cut us off and was weaving all over the road. DH called and reported it, but we couldn't give them a license plate number because the van didn't have one. Turns out, it was an underaged drinker driving to the "frat" house that was 4 doors down from our house!!! I was just glad that no one got hurt!

I have seen a lot of things in my day, but this one really flipped me out. I think they were heading o the sportsmans club from where they turnrd off, but this person could have been playing Chicken. All i could see was green and i think old Tarus. I was just so waiting to witness a big head on colission. The spped limit on there is 50, but they fly on that road. Can you imagine???Head on colissions at 50 mph or more.Who would get killed a family. OOOH... It still gives me chills.
I will know the car if i see it. I am sure i eventually will.
I figured it would be oh well, no plate what can we do???
