PS tricep extensions

Hey Cathe,
Just wondered if you can give me some advice on the PS tricep extensions. I am doing a 12 week rotation with the PS series and I have recently move up from 8lbs to 10lbs and have a noticeable weakness in my right tricep. I haven't had any trouble with 8lbs, but since I started with the 10lbs my right arm struggles to keep up with the left. Should I go back to 8 lbs for a while longer? By the way, I am left handed. Any help would be appreciated. Amy Jo

Hi Amy Jo! A two pound increase for the smaller muscle groups is sometimes too much. Here are some options:

A) Buy one pound wrist weights and put the one pound wrist weight on your right arm when doing extensions with 8 pounds (you can keep with the ten pounds for the left side).

B) You can use 8 pounds with the right but do an extra set of 8 reps with the Slow& Heavy count. Spend 6 seconds on the positive portion of the movement and 2 seconds on the negative portion of the movement.

c) You can use 10 pounds with the right arm but only do what you can with good form. Then quickly put the 10 pounds down and pick up the 8 pounder and finsh the set.

Good Luck!
