PS Legs-floorwork question

Hi Cathe, I hope all is well! I have to ask you about the floor work on PS Legs. I've seen in other posts you've answered, that you've said it's okay to skip this portion of the work out and you'll still get results. Now, I know that you wouldn't put it in if it wasn't beneficial. But, what exactly are the advantages to doing them? What kind of results would I see from work these smaller muscle groups? I must say, it's one my favorite parts of the work out. I happen to love doing it! :
 
I can speak from personal experience on this one. First, I will say that I have real problem legs that I have to work VERY hard at shaping up. I have (had...it's getting better) a lot of "leg mush" on my inner thighs and above my knees that was not helped by standing leg work only, such as in Leaner legs and the first half of PS Legs. I HAVE to add in floor work, and when I did I saw a big change.

I guess it depends on your individual case....I could not get away with skipping the floor work, some CAN get away with not doing it.
 
DITTO! Great descriptive word there, "leg mush!"
I too had "mushy" upper thighs, particularly the inner thigh area and I have been seeing some great improvement with doing the PS-L&A floorwork. Not only outwardly as in the looks of the thighs, but also strength wise. In the beginning, I was one of those that used no weight, and still had to do the slow count, but as weeks progressed, my inner and outer thighs got stronger and stronger to where I began adding ankle weights, and my inner thighs aren't perfect by any measure, but they are much improved, and as I continue to lose body fat through cardio, I see them getting better and better.
So for me as well, skipping the floorwork would have been a mistake.

Hi Mom R! Including these exercises is simply icing on the cake since they isolate the muscle groups a bit more intensly than they do while performing them in the squat and lunge work.
