PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION: SEPTEMBER "SCHOOL DAYS"

You two are kicking a** this morning!!

I had to drive hubby to the airport this morning at 4am, and I didnt fall asleep until almost 1am, so still dragging in the sleep dept. Today is a rest/your choice day on the DeltaFit rotation and they do have a discs of lighter workouts you can choose to do on these days. One is called Sweat and Stretch, I think I'm going to do that one today. I havent done it before, and I heard it uses a foam roller which I dont have, so hoping to improvise. I have the day off and I could easily stay in bed all day, but then I wouldnt be able to sleep tonight....the viscious cycle!!

Let me know how the soup turns out!

omg my legs are FRIED! And i'm even in a spot at work where i sit all day and i can't even handle how fried they are! That Cathe...evil! ha ha

OK Gotta add...I just got home and was changing out of my scrubs into some shorts and a tank top and I gotta say...I do NOT have the butt of a 41 year old! WOO HOO! ha ha Thanks Cathe! :)

FnV- my knees are owwie too now!

Stacy- did you get a nap?

instead of the beginner stability ball abs, I just did the abs from ctx all step and the planks/back/abs from power circuit. WTH is happening to me! lol...

gonna have a drinkie with dinner to celebrate ;-)

No nap, though I tried, just wasnt happenin'. I did do a DeltaFit "rest day" workout and it was enough for me. It was called Sweat and Stretch and it contains 14 cycles, each cycle is 2 minutes, the first minute being the "sweat" segment such as doing air squats and the 2nd minute is the "stretch" for that corresponding body part, ie. deep quad stretches and so on. It was a different concept and I liked it.

I got my two new Horizontal Conditioning workouts in the mail today and previewed them. They look tough, but fun and very different from other things I've done. FnV, I think you might like these. I may end up getting the other ones, we'll see.

Eating today....CRAPOLA. I'd have a smokin' body if I could keep my mouth shut!!!!!!!! Someone slap me! I need a clean eating challenge of some sort, or an intervention, whichever is quickest and most painful!

I'd like to join you.

After a hot summer of blowing off workouts and not getting much accomplished, I'm trying to get back to an hour a day 5 days a week, with various styles.

I'm a 43 yr old stay-at-home wife. Hubby and I have a Lab/shepherd mix, April you see pictured in my avatar. I'm involved in a weekly Bible study ywo days a week, while my current favorite hobby is knitting. After hating PE and sports in school, I put on weight for various reasons and took up exercise in 06. I found Cathe through FitTV and recorded her workouts, until I started buying them. My first preorder was 4DS. I've amassed a large collection of workout DVD's but I haven't done many of Cathe's since STS/Shock cardio; I was a little burnt out:eek:. I'm excited about XTrain and recently preordered {like today} and I also bought Cross Fire.

Today I did Cathe's 40/20 HiiT and 4DS Chest and Back. I haven't done 4DS is a long time so its like the workouts are new to me, and I'm enjoying them.

Looking forward to getting to know you guys.

It's getting late, but wanted to say a quick hello and welcome to Penguin!! Looking forward to your insight and thoughts!! Your dog is a cutie!

Hellooooooo Penguin!

Yes, it has been the hottest, most non productive summer for me too and I'm ready to really get down to business. Good to have you here!

Stacy- I just got home from dinner, had a hamburger, half my fries, waaaay too much ketchup, and a beer. Oh, and did I mention I just ate a lil bowl of ice cream? Gaaaah.

Something struck me as hilarious today, apparently I've been a member here since 2005 and I'm doing the beginner rotation...

All in good time. :)

Thanks for the welcomes.

Andrea, I'm glad I"m not the only one who slacked this summer.

Stacy, Thanks for the compliment on April. She's modelling a scarf I knit. I don't think she was as thrilled with it as I was.

Quick hi and welcome from me, too. This is so nice! Have you guys seen the huge Cathe collections we have listed on our pages? : D Penguin I was trying to look closer at your lab and scarf, but the way the avatars are set up it doesn't work that way. Andrea, you added an avatar, too? I lost both my corgis this summer.
Stacy, I hope my cauliflower holds out for a few more days til I can fix it.

This eve I got my dance class in, but no Biceps. We've started Thriller in dance class, yea!
Prob no workout tomorrow for me, I'll be scheduled and running from 830 a to 930 p. I've packed my lunch and have green smoothie planned for breakie. nitey nite!

Faith, someone on another forum discribed a way to copy avatars and enlarge them. I'll see if I can copy/paste the info. I couldn't figure it out, but I know I miss a lot of detail in the small photos. April is much cuter than I am.

FnV- THRILLER! Oh how fun. You lost both of your Corgis this summer? I could not handle that. Yes, I added an avatar last night, it's me as a baby....I think I'll keep it until I "grow up" with Cathe a lil bit! hee hee

PP- I would love it if you find out how to enlarge these tiny pics! I'd looove to see your April better, what a bunch of dog lovers it seems we are. My monsters are beggin for a walk this morning so we'll be doing that soon before it gets stiflingly hot and humid out again.

hey FnV, can I ask where in FL are you? Hubby wants to move there like yesterday and we are looking into options. It's actually hotter here in KS. And yes I'm jealous of you all and your big collections! :D

Stacy, hope you got some delicious sleep!

I'm pretty sore and creaky feeling this morning, have Body Fusion and a stretch on the docket for today, then a massage *YAY* and going to watch the Giants and Cowboys tonight with a dear friend that I haven't seen in forever so that will be nice! BF is starting to slip into the category of "not hard". Progress :)

Have a great day everybody.

Andrea, This is what they posted to me. As I said I didn't understand it, but I didn't try either. I"m not sure I know what a tab is? I was online 6 years before I figured out what 'browser' ment but obviously I used one each time.

"Actually, there is a way to see them larger, at least as large as they are uploaded…

In someone’s profile, open the picture in a tab, however your browser does it. At the almost end of the web address is “_large”. Delete those six characters for a new web address."

ETA: I tried it but I can open a tab but I can't open a blank one to paste the photo in. Word didn't work either.

Hmmm...all I was able to accomplish was to open your profile in a new tab.

I did upload some pics of my monsters into an album on my profile if anyone is interested!

I will also be posting some progress pics of moi so you can get an idea of where I've been and where I'm going. (boy can't wait to get where I'm going...)

Felt a lil sickly when I took the dogs for a walk, hopefully it's just a little tiredness. Going to tackle BF here in a second, we'll see if that feeling goes away a little.

I tried KCM's new Cardio Quick Fix premix that combines workouts 1 & 2. Sadly, 'mind-numbingly boring' is the best phrase I can come up with. Workout 1 is low impact and more like a overly long warmup, while 2 is more interval or HIIT fashion, but we do the same move for so long, I started making up other moves just to keep interested. I'm a big fan of 'easy choreo cardio' but this just wasn't much fun. Then I added 4DS Shoulders Calves and Core but since I want to be able to walk tomorrow I skipped the second set of calves.

Andrea, your 'monsters' are adorable! Since it was a different forum the 'rules' may be different, but it was worth a try.

Hi everyone! No workout for me today...a much needed rest day and some relaxing football viewing is on my schedule :)

Penguin, I'm computer illiterate hence no avatar for me! I still call them "pictures" ;) I have small collection of KCM workout but her two newest just didnt seem interesting to me. I'd love to have her physique though! If you like easy choreography, you should check out Anni Mairs' Cardio Force, it's deceptively intense!

Anni's Cardio Force

Thriller.....darkness falls across the land, midnight hour is close at hand....

Time to curl up with a book and await the NFL season!

Stacy, thanks for the rec of Anni. I have have her Jump Force but just didn't like it or her voice.

The last computer course I took was in collage, we were still writing our own code because Windows hadn't been invented yet. Hubby teaches me a few things now and again, but I admit to not being able to do much more than post, copy/paste, and play with Word. My most recent achievement is downloading my own pictures into the computer. I can't post them if the site doesn't resize or whatever them for me, unless I use photobucket.

while I'm at it this is me. The pink streak wasn't permananent. http://i554.photobucket.com/albums/jj427/penguinspics/004-2.jpg

What a long day for me but tomorrow is no school, but I think three appointments.
First of all -- I did a workout this morning! Bi's and then half of a Weider X factor which was 20 min of hard goodness. : )
Peng, cute pic! When you get a chance you'll have to add dog pics to your albums. Sorry about your workout not turning out too great but good job at pulling something good together.
Stacy, happy rest day. Enjoy the games. I am barely aware of when the season starts and ends these days since no football lovers in my house.
Andrea, snownose pic is adorable, just want to kiss its face! I hope to post some progress pics, too. Re FL, I live near West Palm Beach, have lived in Daytona area and also grew up on the west coast in Tampa area. I used to go camping at a lot of the state parks when my kids were younger. Where were you considering?
I can't think anymore tonight, take care all

I was cheering for the Giants, how about you Andrea?

I just finished the 2nd workout in week 2 of DeltaFit. I'm always pleasantly surprised how much I'm sweating by the end of the 30 minutes but it creeps on you and before you know it you're done! I've got 2 more weeks of the Phase 1 workouts then I hear he kicks it up a notch, I'm ready for it! I'm going to try one of my new HC workouts this weekend, should be humbling from what I've read on the forums.

FnV...your day sounded exhausting!

Peng...what's on your agenda today? What knitting projects are you working on? I'd love to be a more craftsy (not sure if that's a word) but I cant even sew a button on my pants, believe me I've tried.
