PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION: JULY "FIREWALKS"

Alright, FnV....time to join a new club tomorrow!! (picture us doing a dorky "secret" handshake, hehe)

Even if I cant workout tomorrow, I can definitely NOT eat junk! I think I have to work my way back up to CF though!

OKies, I'll bump us up to front page with my workout which was --> I did a 42 min CF mishmosh (used first section as warm up, subbed low impact tabata for plyo tabata) and then did back only (2 x) from BM2 and abs from BM2.

I've nearly relost all my regained weekend poundage, so that is good.
Stacy, peruse wheat belly if you get the chance. Now that I've checked it out a few times, I've finally clicked with it. I think he may have something...

Peppers and scrambled eggs this morn and green smoothie w/ protein after workout. I'm going to put some chicken breasts in crock pot for later. Stacy the soup maker, i thought of you when a dear friend made tomato soup from home made roasted tomatoes, shallots, spices, olive oil. It was the bestest thing ever.

::dorky handshake::

I finally worked out, stop the presses!! I did most of Athletic Training, skipped a few moves. I got my butt kicked, but actually couldve pushed myself harder but didnt. I have been busy with the next phase in my living room makeover, decided to paint an accent wall, and changed my color scheme a bit for my chairs/couch. I've changed my direction half dozen times already, but I'm really feeling good about this one!

I've got a doctor's appt today so what's up with my old body.

I'll check out Wheat Belly, wonder if it's at the library.

Gotta go shower. I've eaten exactly 12 almonds today, so need to find some food, though getting weighed at the doctor's office on an empty stomach sounds so much more appealing at this point!

I re lost my weekend weight, yea! I think supplements, sleep, water and the no grains/wheat may help with binges/cravings, which in turn helps with limiting evening grazing, which may be ultimately most helpful with weight loss. I'm going to keep up with it and let you know how its going after Sunday. Stacy, I hope the doc went well and that you did OK after the almonds/fast. Today I did about 50 min of bootcamp cardio and then arms and core from Weider and Barrys Bootcamp. I guess I was in the mood for some industrial sets and man energy in my workouts.

Congrats on the re-weight loss!! I had a meeting after work so didnt workout today. I have the day off tomorrow, but right now I have a headache and feel a sore throat coming on, so hoping I'm not feeling worse in the morning :(

Do you have the original Academy Series Bootcamp??

I was thinking about Wheat Belly (havent read it yet), is it different than just your average low-carb advice? I rarely eat wheat as it is, so not sure if I'd purchase the book, but I could definitely peruse a copy from the library.

Yep, the 5 day academy one, you too? I did the one that included Alison Sweeney.

Re wheat belly- prob a lot of similarity to low carb-my spin on it in a nutshell-he discusses the affect of modern day wheat on blood sugar and our guts, celiac and other gut issues. Pervasiveness of gluten in prepared or processed foods. Subbing gluten free stuff is usually just as bad for you since its also drives blood sugar up which leads to increase fat deposit.

tho, the Primal guy just blogged today about wheat but didn't fully buy into some of the evils put out by wheat haters.
Definitely a library loan, not a purchase, imo. That being said, the Amen books on brain health are having an impact on me. Brain health helps to think and feel better and avoid cravings and binging, eating better helps to feel and think better.

I hope you're feeling ok tomorrow. Summer colds are the worse!

Walk x 1 mile, 30 min of boot camp at rec center and 2 mile walk back on longer route. Tomorrow is legs and shoulders. Its late to be eating dinner- hopefully I can find something just right.

I was out of commission on Thursday, so a bit of a wasted day off, felt sick and achy. Friday is my normal rest day. Despite being sick, eating was still crappy and over-indulgent, dont know why I feel "justified" to eat like crap when I already feel like crap!

Today I feel better, not 100%, so I just did a 3 mile walk on the treadmill at varying inclines. I still was sweating pretty hard.

I may pull out my 5 Day Academy series and do that for awhile, I need a break from LIS. I've been noticing my shirts are getting tighter across the shoulders and it has to be from all the shoulder work in LIS, when I resume, maybe I'll stick with 3 lb weights only and incorporate more pure strength training on my off days. I was simply doing 90% LIS and hardly any pure strength work. So, not sure if the bigger shoulders is LIS related b/c of the shoulder work itself or increased body fat. My weight, though unfortunately still 15 lbs from goal, has been stable.

Anyway, enough rambling. I need to go run some errands.

Have a good Saturday!

Boy, have I got some work to do! I did Barry's Academy Series Chest & Abs workout this morning. I was winded just doing the warmup! I had to pause during many of the pushups, and I could do most of the chest presses with up to 20 lb dumbells, now I had to drop down to 12's and even that was tough. I know I can get my lost strength back, but geez, what a bummer! I dont regret doing LIS for so long b/c it did get my legs a bit stronger and my cardio capacity increased, but it was at the expense of my upper body strength and endurance. I think I need the extra cardio for fat loss, but then my strength training seems to suffer. I cant seem to find a happy medium or the time in my workout week to fit in everything. Of course, if I cleaned up my diet, that would help tremendously!!! Story of my life!!

Going to see the new Batman movie today, I want to see it, but not thrilled about sitting on my a** for 3 hrs. Unless a movie is superb, which I find rarely any of them are nowadays, I think 3 hrs is much too long for a movie!!

Stacy, I heard that movie was good, hope you enjoy.
Great Job on BBC!
BBC-I've been able to go heavier before, but that goes for most of my Cathe, too. Just think of your LIS time as periodization.
I think being able to do a LIS or TTM or CF indicates a better overall fitness and function.
I've been doing each body part one time a week, high met workouts, a little step here and there.
My eating has been good; I'm going to give it one more week before I report results.
I didn't work out on Fri or Sat but today I did TBT LB express pm and AB express pm and shoulders only from HR.
Have a great week.

Happy Monday! I cant believe how sore my chest is from BBC yesterday! It's good though, makes me realize how much strength I've lost and I'm excited to get it back! I didnt workout today, had errands to run after work. I've got cardio on tap tomorrow, maybe add-on abs or another BBC upper body workout depending on how much residual soreness I have tomorrow!

Did pretty good with eating, but binged on chips and salsa last night. My husband wanted to snack and of course I went along with him! Today, he said he thinks he hit an all-time low with snacking last night and wanted salad for dinner today. He's wanting to lose about 10 lbs, so I'm hoping he'll stick with this new-found motivation because it's helpful for me too!!

I did another 3 mile walk on the treadmill with random inclines, was a good sweaty workout, chest is still sore, but better.

Off to run errands, again....

Good job on TM, cool to still feeling doms from BBC, too.
My workout was stocking up on plants- spinach and kale, sweet potatoes, avocado. I got some hemp macca powder and some super greens powder for smoothies. I'm off animal protein til further notice.
I'll get some sort of workout in tomorrow.

No workout for me too busy with 4 loads of laundry and other things. I'm planning on BBC Arms and Abs before work tomorrow. I'm okay with animal protein, I'm watching my starchy carbs, as usual. Kale sounds yummy, even though it's hot, I may have to make some soup with kale sometime next week!

I did a walk and boot camp workout at rec center last eve.
Stacy, my no animal protein is health related rather than weightloss related, but I have lost 10 pounds since July 1.
Anymore BBC? We did bi tri extensively in class and got legs and abs a little.
Not sure what is on tap for me today, but bicep work is annoying so at least that is done for the week.

My triceps were pretty sore from BBC Arms & Abs which means I still have a ways to go on getting my strength back!

Today I did LIS LIC Step's Double Blast premix which is combo 1, combo 2, blast, combo 3, combo 4, blast. I worked up a pretty good sweat. Tomorrow will be BBC Back & Shoulders.

That is phenomenal that you've lost 10 lbs since July 1st! Way to go!! I'm so jealous!! I'm still trying desperately to cut back on starchy carbs. It is a daily struggle. I run out of ideas to eat, I dont get to the store often and when I do buy fruits and veggies, they tend to sit in my frig and I end up throwing them away b/c they go bad.

Are you pre-ordering Cathe's XTrain?? I think I'm going to hold off and wait for the reviews. I really dont feel like I need any new workouts right now. I'm going to stick with BBC for a bit, then contemplating doing a one-body-part-per-day rotation, but that seems too long and drawn out. Actually, just doing something every other day is my goal right now and focusing more on the diet and less on the specifics of my workouts. My mind gets too bogged down with all the planning!

Yeah, I do have x train in my cart but haven't completed transaction. 10 bucks a dvd plus free shipping is too good to pass up. But lack of workouts doesn't seem to be a problem area for me either. I do like the Cross Fire TTM dvds tho. And I'm using LIS.

Today i did Drill Max for about 40 min but I had to cut it short in order to meet a friend, but plenty of hard work occurred in that 40 min. My w/o plan for next week is to hit each body part at least once and do some high met workouts.

Good luck with your food. I'm grateful for my shift.

Same author, and I have that one too from library, but I'm reading Making a Good Brain Great, which is earlier and more about brain and overall wellness.

I did HST cardio only pm and leg plus cardio pm for about 40 min of workout.
This eve I went to a party where I didn't have wine, eat cake, cheese, chips, crackers, sausages, or pasta- just ate some roasted veggies and some salad. Tonight, abstinence felt a lot like deprivation, but for now I am sticking to my guns in order to keep moving forward. Eventually those foods will not seem so interesting, either.
