PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION: DECEMBER "GIVE IT YOUR ALL!"

Last day of Bible study until Jan. I was helping in the Childrens Dept {not my favorite place but they really need the help this year}. I was with the 2 year olds. Even though I wore sneakers, My feet are killing me because since 9am-11 the only time I got to sit down was during story time!

The rest of the day was my own {mostly napping on the couch} and Knit Night is tonight! so that will be fun!

just a quick check in, im sleeeeeepy!

power circuit after work today...ok my workout room is no where near big enough to fit in the horrible all over the place aerobic sections...i liked the rest of the workout but that first part was just bad, bad, bad.
Work is going well so far! still feel like i have plenty of time in my day to do what i need/want to do.

oh, no dog walk today since they destroyed a roll of toilet paper today and decorated the house with it. i shut them outside and vacuumed for half an hour instead :)

I did Cathe's Cardio Supersets today. I feel better than I have in a while. I'm not sure if its the vacation from Bible study or what. Hubby talked to his boss who said there may be a postition availible for him after the hanger here in Memphis closes down. We've heard this before from the company the past month or so, and they keep changing their minds so we won't believe it until it happens, but its still good news. if it happens :p

One of the kids yesterday said he had to go potty but just unrolled a bunch of toilet paper instead. Fun times!

So glad you're feeling much better Peng! Hoping for good news for your hubby as well.

I'm about to barf :-( Just did 10-10-10 from Crosstrain xpress, a little above my level I think...and I think i have the wrong shoes for this dvd. Both workouts i've done from it, my forefeet and arches are dying by the end from all that quick lateral movement. my feet slide a bit in these shoes, so I'll save those workouts for a time when i have better fitting shoes.

Feels so great to be able to get a workout in on a Saturday though! now I'm off to the showers and off to work but I'm thrilled that I was able to work my bod this morning :)

Have a lovely day! Stacy, you off work this weekend? Hope so! you've been working too hard!

Hi ladies, I've been just feeling plain old tired lately, not much work, not enough sleep. Havent worked out in a few days...wait I worked out Thursday, geez seems like I havent, been feeling sluggish I guess, diet is hit or miss, so havent had much to report.

Working this weekend too, so dont honestly know if a workout is gonna happen or not, may try to start wrapping presents this weekend just to feel as if I've accomplished something!

Andrea, glad you got a workout in. My work scheduled changed last week as well so I was adjusting to different hours. I did have the opportunity to workout Friday before work but was just too stinkin' tired!

Peng, good job on your workout as well and glad you're feeling better. I'm really trying to keep a positive attitude, work has been exhausting which for me lends itself to poor eating and the snowball affect. I think being more aware of the pattern helps....but the incoming holiday junk food at work certainly doesnt!! What do you know about making a quilt?? I want to have a special one made for a gift but dont know how to go about doing that. I'm sure there are people that know how to do it for a fee.

So today is the one day a week I get to sleep late. So I set my alarm for 9am. Hubby comes in at 8:45 with friends so they can move the extra fridge out of the garage. So I’m racing around getting presentable while they move the fridge, then Hubby and another guy comes inside and we stand around my tiny kitchen in the middle of all my unwashed dishes soaking in the sink from last night. I tried to get us to move to the living room but no they’d been sitting all day and wanted to stand. I didn’t want to draw any more attention to the dishes but arrggghhh!!!

I can already tell this isn’t going to be a great day. One bright spot is the fridge is gone!

Stacy, do you want to make it yourself or hire out? Do you have a sewing machine? Quilt in a Day / Television & Video This woman is amazing and I used a lot of her techniques when I quilted. She figured out how to do everything on the machine. She used to be a kindergarden/special ed teacher then retired and started the quilting TV show. I'm hoping the holiday vacation will help me get back into the exercise groove.

Andrea, would some insoles help with your shoes? When I first started exercise I wore some rather worn out shoes and my feet would go numb when I did cardio, mostly my left.

Peng, I'd definitely hire out! I dont even own a needle or a spool of thread, let alone a sewing machine!!

i think its just the way they are made, running shoes with a lot of mesh around the toe/ball of foot area so they tend to stretch with too much lateral movement :-( otherwise great shoes. i just might need some rykas for Christmas :)

Stacy you might check into quilt shops in your area. they should have a ready list of people that can help you out. :)

Good morning my PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION buddies! :)

Got up at 0430 to get in Supersets this morning before work. I did great on it! Didn't up my weights any except on bicep work (my bis are much stronger after gym styles!) but DID complete the entire "bike maneuver" section without pausing for the FIRST TIME EVERRRRRRRRR! hee hee I was pretty excited about that. Abs must be getting stronger too...thanks Ab Hits :)

Everything else feels stronger, much more stable and much less injury prone. My upper body used to feel like I could tweak something at any time if I wasn't careful, now I just feel much more better put together I guess.

OK gotta run, at work. Hope you all have a great day!

Way to go, Andrea!! 4:30am??? Wow, impressive. I know exactly how you feel when you talked just feeling more "put to together"....unfortunately I've lost that lovin' feeling lately and need to get my buttocks in gear! It's been so hard lately, very busy season at work, not meant to be an excuse, but only so many hours in the day and my feet are throbbing when I get home from work, ugh.

This week I'm going to refocus on my eating and work outs. I need to get back in the groove before Xmas. Also in a few months I have to get my driver's license photo renewed and I'd like alot less chub in the cheeks in that pic!

Happy Monday Crew! We've got exactly 2 weeks until Xmas Eve, who's up for a Blast the Fat 2 Week Holiday Bootcamp??? I'm planning on giving it my all (I know I should always be doing that) for the next 2 weeks by that I mean some good sweaty workouts, and some good clean eating!

I weighed in, it's weird, looking back at my journal, I weigh the EXACT same amount today as I did Mon Nov 19th right before Thanksgiving but I feel and look much flabbier at the same weight. I'm going to start following The FIRM 90 Day Rotation Calendar. That has workouts 6 days a week, I'm aiming for 4-5 depending on holiday shopping and my work and sleep schedule.

I've packed a healthy lunch, now off to work for a busy Monday!

Today will be Total Body and abs, wish me luck as I'm working 12 hrs today :(

you can do it Stacy, just look at it as part of your job, an appointment you've made with yourself, whatever it takes, once you get started you'll be glad you did it :)

I did Step Moves today, I know people weren't thrilled with this dvd but i really liked it! it wasn't insanely intense, so it fit my fitness level perfectly, and i dug the danciness of it. will do it again soon so i can get the moves down a little better!

The weather has turned cold again, but I'm enjoying the chill so far, but that won't last long, our low is 20* tonight! ACK! At least the sun came back out!

Hubby is at a funeral for a retired coworker; who beat cancer then passed from pneumonia.

When he returns we will do a little more Christmas shopping then, hopefully do something fun. No ideas yet.

Andrea, doesn't it feel great to feel so...great!? great job on the bike, not one of my favorite exercises, I must add.

Stacy, Ironically, on VideoFitness forum I'm in a Firm checkin, but I mostly do other workouts now. They kindly haven't kicked me out yet. Great job on the healthy lunch. sorry about the 12 hour days.

Eating was pretty good, had more cals at dinner than I had expected. We went out for dinner and I had soup and salad, but darn it if that salad wasnt loaded with more cals than I thought when I came home and checked the restaurant's online nutritional info. That being said, clocked in at 1200 cals today.

It's almost 8pm and no workout yet. I'm thinking I'll just rest up and workout tomorrow. There's only so many hours to eat, work and sleep let alone workout and spend time with hubby.

hey I'm impressed with your calorie count for the day. I think I had you beat by lunchtime, and not in a good way...

I did load up on fruits and veggies at the store this afternoon. I love eating cleaner...makes me less hungry at work and I don't have to worry about when I get my breaks. I used to be starving all the time (my nickname at work is "munchie".) More than a couple of people have noticed that "Munchie" is now able to make it until 1 or 1:30 to take her lunch...that's definitely different!

Where can I find the Firm 90 day rotation? Hmm...i would suppose in this day and age I could just Google it...lol

I'm excited to be "branching out" with new DVDs. Trying to figure out what awaits in january!

Peng, did you all get to do anything fun tonight?

Andrea, dont be too impressed. About an hour after dinner I had a bowl of leftover pasta :(

Actually it took me awhile to find the FIRM calendar online, at least an easy to read version. Here's a link to a post at videofitness, the links to the calendar's pdf are in the second post.

Here are my results - 90-day Firm Rotation - Page 3 - Video Fitness Forum

I'm going to the store today to restock on some veggies.

I ended up not working out last night, today I'm going to do cardio and abs. I'm following the calendar order but not the exact day as I'm already "off" a day! I'm going to do some walk/run intervals on the treadmill.

Not munching at work is hard. I dont eat much for breakfast b/c of my IBS and then by the time my stomach is ready for food I'm very busy at work and my work environment is not a great place to eat germ-free, so I tend to drink low carb protein shakes which gets very unexciting after awhile! Not to mention they dont keep well if you dont drink them soon. My work frig isnt really close to my actual work space so I usually just say forget it and dont bother going to the frig to get anything. Still trying to get creative with food.

Gotta drop my "kids" off at the groomers, bbl!

I did a 40 min walk/run interval workout on the treadmill that I found online. It was depressingly hard for a "beginner", but such is life. Im interested in incorporating some more running back into my routine. I'm definitely not a runner but I do like it when I get better at it. I then did the stability ball ab workout from Butts & Guts. That was my "Cardio & Ab" workout from the FIRM calendar.

Off to do some shopping, hoping to finish today!

I am in a funk today...that kind of state of mind where you just feel not good enough for anything or anybody. Not quite depressed...just not happy.

I did take the monsters for a very long walk this afternoon and after lots of laundry and vacuuming I attempted the Upper Body Split from CTX. WOW. Not sure how I'm typing right now. I skipped the biceps and triceps, will attempt those on Thursday I think. Just don't have it in me today, but I did manage to fry my back, shoulders, and chest, so that's good.

Off to make something healthy...I'm thinking salad. I had some ice cream today, but it was a small bowl and I resisted the urge to just go to Sonic and get a vanilla malt, so I guess I'll call that a victory. Seriously, it was one of those teeny tiny fiesta ware fruit bowls. Tiny. Tiiiiiiiiny. lol.
