Thanks for the link - which of the balls is the type that Cathe uses? It looks like there are a variety to choose from. If I'm doing weight work on the ball (like using the ball as my bench while doing PUB, for example), does it really matter which one I get?
Dani, OMG, the holiday balls skit! That is one of my all time favorites........"I have my balls right here in a sack," "my balls are very sweet & tender," "here, feel my balls,"......who knew the guy could be so funny?
Dani,
Thanks! I just ordered the Resist-a-Ball b/c they were out of the 55cm VersaBalls, but it says that the R-a-B is also more durable and can hold up to 750 lbs - thanks again for the link!
Actually Jes, Shonie told me that the softer the ball, the harder you have to work. This makes me feel better about my cheapo Wal-Mart ball that somehow always deflates a bit days after I pump it.
would having a 65 cm ball instead of a 55 cm ball, which the charts say i should have, would also contribute to the pikes being harder? i am too weak anyway in my core, but i wonder if having the correct size ball would help me on my way to doing these.
By the way Jes I bought mine at fwonline.com it's a slow deflate ball (the red one). When I saw the pictures you all posted, I spotted a lot of those red balls at Cathe's gym. When I bought mine I ordered from fwonline because SNM suggested that site. I've never had any problems with it and I bought it in 2001.
Another thing, they sell air pumps to fill the balls and an inflation guide to know if the balls are filled properly. I've never invested in any of those but I assume they are a must at health clubs and I'm assuming they use them at Cathe's.
All the products I mentioned (slow deflate thera balls, air pumps and the inflation guide) are listed here: http://www.fwonline.com/fballs.htm
I hope you don't have any more problems with your balls. haha

Yes, definitely. You should be using the right sized ball for your height. It will make the moves much more doable.
that is what if figured, but was resisting getting another ball as my sweet boyfriend got me the 65 cm for christmas. i didn't know at that time that the size mattered. }( thanks for giving us that link..
ha! i knew this thread would turn into a riot}( it's official that i have to get another one, cause i just tried to do pikes on mine and it's a no-go.x( Didi you see the new set of balls on the link from fwonline??????????? those looks pretty interesting
that peanut ball scares me a little. but i definitely think the faster blaster pump to inflate my balls when they are feeling a little saggy would be a good investment.

I thought the harder ball made the workout more difficult because you have less surface contact... only knowing about old balls, can someone set me straight}( (sorry, had to get in on the fun...)
as long as they're not blue.... It seems like they are always harder. I tend to be more parial to the red ones that don't look so....saggy I guess would be the right word. I fill mine the best I can but after each use, they still seem to deflate a bit. Maybe I need to slow down when I pump to make it last longer....
i too thought the hard balls were, well, harder, but it sounds like harder is more doable. these girls on this forum would know best. i am with MIssy about the red balls. red is my favorite color and i definitely want to be happy and feel good when i use my ball so i am glad 55 cm is my size.
Ok This is serious business! Nothing like ball problems I often say. Ok actually I don't but my ex did Anyway maybe I need a new ball too. Thanks for the links!
