Hi everyone

I seem to remember that someone posted a question to Cathe asking why it was okay to do Cardio and Weights or Bootcamp the day before or the day after doing a strength training video, and yet there are weights in both of these. I can't remember what Cathe's response was and I've been trying to find this post.
Does anyone else remember this, and where can I find the post (or am I just imagining things!)

Thanks

Sandra

If I recall correctly, C&W can be put before or after a lower body workout, since there isn't much legwork on it, and Bootcamp can be done before or after an upper body day. Sorry I don't know where the post is, though! Hopefully someone else can point you in the right direction.

Sarah :)

Hi Sandra,

Don't know where the post is, but I believe the message was that it's ok because CW and BC are both lighter weight, endurance type workouts. Of course, this is assuming that you do indeed keep the weights light...

Hope this helps,

Angela

Hi Erica! Boot Camp only contains one minute of weight training per a particular body part and Cardio Wts has two minutes per upper body part (there is no specific lower body weight training in Cardio/Wts). The structure of these workouts does not stay on any one body part long enough to interfere with recovery for that body part(unless you are extremely sore ((which could happen initially upon doing them)), in which you would simply use a very light weight for that minute or two to help break up the lactic acid in the muscle group).

Yes, you can do Circuit Max before or after a strength day keeping the same thought process in mind as above. The main reason being that this workout also focuses more specifically on cardio output than weight training.

Boot camp actually focuses more on overall stamina since you do a wide variety of exercises and move fairly quickly from one to the next. But again, since no one muscle group is taxed for very long it can be used along side other weight workouts if you are not extremely sore.

Hope this helps, Sandra!

RE: Hi Sandra!

Thank you DebbieH! Even though I'm not Sandra, I missed this post and I was interested in reading Cathey's reply.

RE: Hi Sandra!

Thanks DebbieH for going to the trouble to find that post for me - that is the one I knew I had read somewhere! :)

Well I have another suggestion on how to classify Boot Camp. I did it this morning and I decided what I was really working the most was the core. So, for my purposes, I am calling it a "core" work out.
