Pregnancy Tests?

Hi ladies!

I have a question about pregnancy tests. I just took a First Response Early Pregnancy test and got 2 lines - 1 is a faint line. I took an EPT test and got only 1 line(negative). I am 16 DPO. My period is a few days late. I am not sure if I am pregnant. I have heard horror stories of fasle positives w FR. Could you please share what pregnancy test you used or which you think is most accurate? I am dying to know either way if I am pregnant?

Hmmm... I took a FR test when I found out I was pregnant. It worked fine. If you want to be extra sure, wait a couple of days and take another EPT test. Or you could try the ClearBlue digital test (I took one of those just for fun!:) )

Home pregnancy tests detect the presence of HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin). The more sensitive the test, the lower the level of HCG needed to result in a positive test. I believe FR detects levels of 15 - 25 mIU/ml, but EPT is 40 or 50. I am not sure, check the box. Here is a link that lists the sensitivity of various tests:

I am not sure how up to date the information is, and many tests have improved sensitivity.

I took several tests that first day... 4 different brands ALL Positive. Also, I was only 10 DPO, so I was early. Anyway, I used First Response, Answer, one of the tests used at the family planning clinic I work for, and ClearBlue Digital Pregnancy Test (the one that says Pregnant or Not Pregnant). My second lines were faint on the standard tests, but the Answer was the most definite.

I hope this helps. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Keep us updated. Good Luck!

I took the same test when I found out I was pregnant. And yes, the second line was very faint as yours was.
