Happy (belated) Mother's Day ladies! I hope you all enjoyed being pampered yesterday! :)

Not much new on this end. Just enjoying the pregnancy...I can't believe I have about 7 weeks to go! :)

Here's my week:
Sunday - off
Monday - Bootcamp (some hi/lo modifications) + walking
Tuesday - walked
Wednesday - Tone it Up
Thursday - KPC premix (cardio)
Friday - power walking
Saturday - off

On Saturday, hubby and I had a 'birthing' class at the hospital we will be at. I've read so much that there were not really any surprises - it just helps to ease my mind that I am taking advantage of every resource out there...

Well, I hope you all had a wonderful week!

First, I second the Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies and mommies-to-be. I hope each of you are doing well.

We attended child birth classes too, but I mostly went for my hubby's sake. :) I am even going to attend this time, so I have a certificate to scrapbook. I don't want my second child to have a skimpy scrapbook. :)

Sunday: Off
Monday: Step Jam + PS CST
Tuesday: PS Legs & Abs
Wednesday: PS BBA &b KPC
Thursday: Kathy Smith Kickbox
Friday: PH
Saturday: Off

Well, I am on exercise restriction this week (oh and I am the typical nurse... a HORRILBE, non-compliant patient). Anyway, the NP checked me today, and my cervix is ripe (soft) and dilated at least a finger tip. My cervix is too posterior to really determine dilation. I also am measuring less than dates, so I am having an U/S tomorrow. I am not ok'd for anything more than walking, weights, and yoga until the results of the U/S. :( I think they are being overly cautious, but it is "better to error on the side of caution". And of course, I will take the advice and be compliant for the health of my baby.

Have a great week ladies!

Hi Autumn!
I'll be thinking about you tomorrow -- hope you doctor's appointment goes well. Let us know how it goes...

Take care of yourself! ;)

Hi Ladies -
Missed last week's check-in but there wasn't much to report as the week before I was recovering from a bad cold. The only exercise I got in was from the Sunday I was in Vegas and we took a very long walk-the longest of the trip. The cold really zapped my energy (what I had left was for baby!) and it's taking me a little more effort to get back into the swing of things. I really didn't feel much like working out until Tues of last week. I attended my first pre-natal yoga class, too.

Sun-Off
Mon-Off
Tue-Donna Richardson Low Impact
Wed-MIS
Thu-35 min walk and 60 min. prenatal yoga class
Fri-Off
Sat-Off

Last week hubby and I attended our first Lamaze class and we're looking forward to completing the session. The furniture for the nursery arrived, too!

Christy, I bet these 7 weeks fly by for you! Enjoy!!
Have a great week, everyone.

Thanks Christy! Well, I really need an ultrasound machine at home. :) I am just mesmerized by this beautiful little person inside!! He had his hand up over his eye... as if he had had enough already. :) I could be wrong, but his nose, mouth, and chin really remind me of my daughter. I guess we will see. I could also see his hair... it looked like peach fuzz. :) The technology is sooooooo much better now than 4 years ago. Anyway, I am still having a boy. Whew! Otherwise, I will have a little girl in very boyish clothing. :)

The U/S was for Estimated Fetal Weight and Amnitotic Fluid Index. The tech shared the weight with us... 3 #s 1 oz. Of course, she could only tell us so much... but I did take a peak at the AFI. Sometimes they hide stuff from me when they know I am an Nurse Practitioner, but she let me see everything. I had clinic with one of the physicians yesterday afternoon and told him my numbers, which he called and confirmed for me. What a sweet man (and cute I might add). Anyway, my amniotic fluid is on the low side of normal but still normal. He went back and forth on resuming my exercise, but he did give me the ok. I am taking a recovery week this week. I was going to try out my Slim Series, but I decided to stick with workouts I know. That is all I know for now.

Hey Chrsity, would you recommend holding off on the Slim Series until post partum or go for it?

Diana,

I hope you had a good time in Vegas!!

How was your first prenatal yoga class? I have a tape I am going to utilize this week. Trying to take it easy.

Isn't setting up the nursery soooo much fun? Are you going with a theme? We have to get started. My hubby is going to lay hardwood and has been procrastinating. Oh, and we need to paint too. I think he will get busy now that my cervix is gettin' ready for the big event. I told him it can take a while for it to "get ready", but if it motivates him that is great. :)

Well, take care!

Hi Autumn -
In all honesty, our Vegas trip could have been better but I was coming down with that awful cold and didn't know it at the time.

The pre-natal yoga class is good. The instructor teaches it like I teach my regular yoga classes so our philosophy on it is basically the same. I like being the student in this case and we soon-to-be-moms are enjoying the support of the class as we go through the same things. I'm looking into pre-natal massage because I think that's what I really need to help me loosen up and relax as my due date approaches.

It is so much fun setting up the nursery. I'm still waiting for the linens which are a combination of green, yellow, blue & white. It'll be a few more weeks before they arrive. No real theme except a variety of animals. We just want a bright, cheery, happy nursery for baby. The paint was the first thing my husband did a few months ago because we wanted that done before the furniture arrived.

I'm sure your husband will get motivated very soon!

Oh Diana!! Go for the massage!!!! I have one every other week... this therapist has been doing my messages for the last 8 years... she comes to my home. Absolutely WONDERFUL!!!!!!!

Your nursery will be BEAUTIFUL!! My daughter's nursery really didn't have a theme either. I guess it became teddy bears and bunnies... and evolved into LOTS of animals. I wanted Mother Goose this time, but my DD chose Pooh for her baby brother. I guess it is appropriate since she tells me I have Tigger in my belly... sometimes I even have a "hunny" pot. :)

Sorry you didn't enjoy Vegas more. :(

Take care!

Autumn

Hi Autumn,
Thanks for the update. I'm so happy to hear that all is normal for you & baby so far! I will be praying it continues that way :) Lucky you to know so much information and to have the doctor resource to really find out what is going on. :) Sometimes I feel clueless with all this stuff.
That is so cool that you could see all the babies fine details during the ultrasound. How cool is that? It's like peeking at your Christmas present! ;)

I've seen the workouts you post and I think you could easily jump right into the Slim Series... no problem. Right now I am liking Tone it Up -- it goes in phases. This workout uses 3lb weights pretty much throughout the whole thing and is minimal impact. You will probably want to do some modifications for the laying on back exercises - I've found that my big exercise ball works well for those moves.

Take care!

Hey Diana,
Where did you get the linens? I am doing my nursery in animals w/ the same colors. I got all my linens from Pottery Barn Kids. Just curious if we have the same stuff :)

I think you ought to go for the massage! <big sigh> I know my body is craving that kind of attention ;)

Hi Christy -
I ordered them through Berg's, it's a local baby store. But the linens are from Cottontale Designs. The line name escapes me but it has lambs and chicks on it. Rabbits and cats are also making their way into the nursery! I'm a Beatrix Potter fan and I'm looking for some of that stuff to help decorate but it's hard to find.

My first pre-natal massage will be tomorrow!! I can't wait. She's coming to my house. The therapist is 34 weeks pregnant herself. I'll probably get another therapist she recommends when she has her baby because I want to get a massage regularly up until delivery. I really think that will help me relax more. I really need it because my hips and butt are still bothering me when I sleep. And my feet are sore, too. The last thing I want is tense muscles when I go into labor!

Autumn-that's so cute your daughter insists on Pooh! How sweet!

Diana
