Happy Mothers Day to all of the mothers, mothers-to-be, and hopeful mothers-to-be!

Hope you all have had a nice day today. I got breakfast in bed, which was actually a banana and very soggy granola! I have no clue how long they had it sitting in milk before they gave it to me but it was pretty mushy and I had to choke it down! LOL! I loved it! I got lots of nice presents too! I also got to nap this afternoon, which was maybe the best present of all!

oddly, but granola and milk, even soggy, sounds good:)

happy mothers day everyone. we had a lovely day here - a picnic at the park and just some nice quiet family time with no work today!! i am much brighter than yesterday and got in a great workout too. now, i just want my bed!! hope everyone feels good

Morris, glad you had a good day!

I am skipping my workout tonight. I really shouldn't with as much carbs as we've ate this weekend but its Mothers Day and I'm tired!!:)

I am getting so anxious for my ultrasound. May 30 - too long to wait. We decided to have the girls come with us. I think it will be great for them to see the baby and they are old enough to behave. At the time of the u/s they'll be 4 and 6. They are so excited. Gina (6) hugs and kisses my belly every chance she gets and they bpth sit and talk to my belly. I love it! I'm so glad this pregnancy happened when it did. We tried to get pg when Isabel was 1 but couldn't - my bodyfat was too low. By the time it was up high enough to get a period back we decided we didn't want anymore kids. So now we have this little surprise blessing and I am so happy about it. If we had had a baby when we initially tried - oh my! How chaotic life would've been. I will be able to relax a little more and be much more sane!

Now - go to bed! It's mothers day! We deserve it!

Happy Mother's Day! My DH did well with a gift certificate for a prenatal massage. I love massages, and I can't wait! I had a really nice, but busy weekend too. Yesterday, we took DS to an amusement park where we met some cousins. Today, we met my sister and her girls at Hershey Park. Then, we went out to eat. We came home at 5:30, and I slept on the couch from 6:00 until 9:00p.m. I am just about to go to bed now. I did get some workouts in last week: GS Legs, 3 very long walks, 20 minutes upper body on Bowflex.
My allergies have been crazy last week due to pollen. When I went to get my shot on Wed, I had my first reaction to a shot ever (since I was 11 and started getting allergy shots). I started coughing like nuts, but thankfully, I was still at the dr's office since they require you to wait 30 minutes after getting each shot. I had to get a nebulizer treatment, along with an allergy medication. The dr. asssured me that it was all safe. My DS was with me, and he was very well behaved, except for the time he spurted out, "Mommy asshole". I almost died! That's the only word he experiments with (he just turned 3). We found that if we don't explode at him for that, he just lets it go. Now, from coughing so darn much, I strained the left side of my back. One of these days, I will be all better! Oh, I am feeling the baby move quite a bit now too. That's exciting!
I hope everyone else had a great Mother's Day too.
-Jen

hi everyone

kate, that is such an interesting prespective about having the baby now and not 3 years ago. your girls will be such a big help to you! i bet they will love the us, and perhaps you could ask for a 3-dpeek just for the girls}( }( that is interesting about you not cycling with a low body fat a few years ago. why was it so low, if you do not mind me asking? did they check it? i have trouble cycling, but i don't think it is linked to body fat as it never chanegs, even if my weight changes. sorry for your fatigue yesterday. you deserve a rest day, though. hope tday is energetic.

hi jen - glad you had a good mom's day. hope the allergies get better soon - that sounds miserable. when is your ultrasound?

i am so proud that i got out of bed this morning. i have gotten up early everymorning for the last week!! the only bad thing today is ds woke before i finished my run, and for some reason, dh never hears him!! yet, i can even down in the basement over the noise of the treadmill. go figure. i got in 8 miles, but was hoping for 9. oh well:) long day at work today, and dh is gone until thursday morning. bbl

Hi everyone!

Hope you all had a nice weekend. Sounds like you did. We don't celebrate Mother's Day or Father's Day--just more stress and money, so we let each other off the hook.:p

My wonderful Dh did, however, help me get the garden planted, which was my weekend goal. We've done everything, but the flowers, which are not as urgent as the vegetables. Now, we pray it all grows after all that work.

I am in the 3rd trimester today--26 weeks down and 14 to go, although I am seriously considering being induced a week early for planning reasons. Dh will be working almost an hour away most likely and my labors are going faster and faster.

My workouts last week:
MM
Low Max, 1-6
GS BSB
Imax 2, with leg work during the intervals--this gal can't jump!
GS CT
Cardio Toolbox, 1st 2 sections

Lisa--I'm totally understanding about the lower back pain. I struggle with it too--the SI joint of my lower right back/butt area, especially. I cannot kick box or jump and I always lower my step hight to 4"--those things help. I also use the stationary bike quite a bit. I'd love to have access to a pool. You will love low max--when I first got it, I did it all the time because the fun factor was so high. Enjoy!

Morris--a picnic on a Sunday sounds nice--things must be warming up in your neck of the woods. Is the snow all gone? Sorry about the bummer pregnancy hormones--I'm right there with you. I think I'm having a bi-polar pregnancy, not to make light of the disease--it's just that I am having real highs and lows and the emotional roller-coaster is not fun.

Kate--definitely have your girls there for your ultrasound if you can. They are at a great age for having a younger sibling. My kids are always talking to my belly and asking--"is she kicking?". Sometimes she kicks way "inside" my enormous womb and no one can feel her but me, but if she is kicking "on the surface", everyone wants to feel her (well, the three big kids--the three little ones, don't quite get it except that "there's a baby in there".) Time is flying--your ultrasound will be here before you know it. Can I have some granola?:9

Jen--so scary with that shot--I'm glad they make everyone wait 30 min. LOL on your son. What's really bad is when they say something naughty and it makes you laugh--I always try to hide my laughter, because then they want to say that particular thing again and again, but it's hard. Feeling the baby move is a reassuring feeling.

Hi Kristan! Hi Anne! Hi Lurkers!

Maggie:)
26 weeks down, 14 to go

Hi all. Glad to see you're all doing so well. I am so shocked I only have another 7 weeks to go.

My mothers day was very busy. Between our mothers and my grandmother, I had a lot of places to go and people to call.

last week I did:

3 mile run plus CTX upper body split
drill max low body circuit
rhythmic step
4 mile walk for charity with family

Only 4 workouts, but each seemed purposeful and that is my goal.

Kate- I am ordering Core Blast. Anything else you have your eye on to buy?

hI everyone else. I must go. I get to go to Target tonight ALL BY MYSELF.

Jen, I would've crawled under a chair! Thankfully my girls never "experimented" with words! LOL - too funny! Glad you were in a good place to get treatment from the shot. Scary. Glad you're feeling Baby move - its so reassuring, isn't it?

Morris, BF was low because I was working out like a machine for 2 hours a day and not eating enough to support it. They tested me for everything in the book and found nothing except for low body fat, which I don't even remember what it was anymore. I just remember still feeling "chubby" and not god enough. I was most likely on my way to an eating disorder. A stressful situation came around that brought my Wo's down to 1 hour and eating went crazy. I gained 10 lbs and my period came back. 8 miles is still great!! Hope Thursday comes quickly for you!

Maggie, Do the kids help with the garden? My mom and her DH doa veggie garden so we just rob them! I don't want the work of it when I can get theirs for free!:p YAY for the 3rd trim!!! How fast are your labors? My last one was 2 hours and I didn't need to push! Hope this ones not quite so fast! Actually, I probably would want it that way again. Nothin' like gettin' it done! Great WOs for you. I don't do combo 7 of LowMax either. That side kicj hurts my hip somethin' fierce, esp. now.

Kristan - 7 weeks! How exciting!Great WO's! that DM circuit is great! No ordering for now for me...my gap bill just came! Yikes!! I went a little crazy buying maternity clothes! Have fun at Target.

I did LowMax y'day and Muscle Endurance upper body and abs tonight. Feeling good AND feeling baby move!

How's everybody doin'?

Hi ladies!! Hope everyone enjoyed their Mother's Day. I know I'm a little late, but this is a busy week for me and I can't wait to get through it!

Morris - My DH sleeps like a log also. Either that or he pretends not to "hear", KWIM?

Kate - Yay for feeling baby move! I can't wait for that. I figure in another couple weeks I'll be feeling baby also.

Jen - Too funny about dd! I'm sure it was mortifying at the moment, but it's too funny not to laugh at! Glad everything worked out with the shot. That is scary about getting an allergic reaction.

Maggie - I have the same pain in the same area with my back. My left, lower back has been hurting all day today and as I get bigger it travels down to my butt and sometimes even my leg where I can't stand or walk. Congrats for hitting the 3rd trimester!

Kristan - Wow, you're going to give birth soon! Are you ready?

So I gave a list of Cathe DVDs that I wanted so he could go ahead and surprise me with whatever he ended up buying. He won't tell me which ones, but I hope I got at least 2. I'll let you guys know which ones I got. Better go feed the kiddies dinner. BBL.

Lisa

lisa, i hope you get mm, it is so fun! i have done it twice now and love it. so sorry for that pain!! does moving around help? i cannot imagine it.

maggie, yeah for the 3rd trimester. i hope you are feeling okay and as stable as possible;-) i mean that kindly as that is how i am most days - stable as possible.

kristan, great workouts! i hope that 7 weeks holds for you and you do not go late! i hope i go early;-)

kate, greeat workouts hte last few days! that is awsome you are feeling the baby move so much. i am glad you are ina healthier place right now. it is so easy to go from what is healthy to what is not, i think, as too much of anything good can be bed. know what i mean?

jen, hope you are feeling better.

anne, how was your vacation?

i think i missed checking in yesterday at all. dh is out of town, and life got busy. it was sucha great day, though. ds and i had so much fun together. he got up very early today, but luckily, so did i}( i got in a nice run and hope to do some lower body later. oh, and the hilight of my day yesterday was when ds asked for some "damn" crackers (ie "grahmn" crackers.

bbl

wow--Kristan--7 weeks. That time is going to fly. Your workouts look awesome to me. I'm gettin 5-6 in each week, but I can't jump and am using a 4"step. I feel like such a weenie.

Kate--(((hugs))) about the secretary issue in open forum. I understand what you are trying to say. I think talking openly about it with dh is the best way to feel reassured. Yes, the kids do help in the garden. The older 3 are actually useful, the younger three have a very different idea of what it means to "help" and have to be watched carefully. We are also training them to stay on the paths and not walk on the beds. My labors aren't super fast, but by the time dh gets home and we get to the hospital which is 30 min away, I'm pretty far along. I was at a 7 with #5 and an 8 which quickly progressed to a 9 with #6.

Lisa--Have you talked to your ob to see if there are ways to manage your pain. Your's sounds worse than mine, as mine really only hurts while doing certain activities, or while I'm trying to turn over in bed, or if I've been lying down or sitting for a while, when I first get up, I can't put weight on that leg. I don't have constant pain. Can't wait to hear which Cathe's you get. Are they coming soon?

Morris--I know exactly what you mean by "stable";). I've had a pretty stable week, and I hope it stays that way for a while. "damn" crackers LOL--they say the funniest stuff. I really should write it all down.

Hi Anne! Hi Jen! Hi Lurkers!

take care,
Maggie
26 weeks, 2 days

Lisa, The first movement I felt with this one was on the first day of Week 16. I just got another kick! He/She must be embarrassed I'm talking about it! Hope you're getting some good DVDs!

Morris, LOL on the crackers! The kids around here are getting some bad potty mouths!:+

Maggie- Thanks for the hug! It's very hard letting go of my work responsibilities, as I am *very* controlling/super Type-A, but I know once I'm totally out of the loop I won't mind being semi-out of the loop. Make sense? I totally trust DH and don't think he's going to cheat on me but it is so woerd to have another woman know his daily schedule and be around him all day. He lets me vent about it all I want and he's very understanding. He said "I would hate for someone to come in to do my job that has more time to give to it than me!". He totally understands and I totally love him! ... I know what you mean about how much little ones think they're helping!:)

Yesterday was my rest day and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Tonight is cardio&legs of some sort. Also DDs last day of preschool for the year is today so yay to that! One less thing to run around for! And with gas at $4/gal it's just in time!

Have a great day!!

hi everyone!

kate, hope your last day of preschool went well. what did you do for your cardio and legs today? glad you are feeling so much movement. my guy is starting to slow down in there now....

maggie, glad you are as stable as can be. i am having my moments, but overall okay.

i am wondering if any of you have experienced severe bladder issues at the end of your pregnancies? just in the last 2 days, i can do 15min of cardio before i have to pee. then another 15min. and so on. it is so annoying!! also, same holds true at work when i walk around. thank goodness for working inside near facilities. anyone had that issue? any reccomendations? despite my bathroom breaks, i had a fun kb workout today. did ctx kick box, high intensity drills from kpc and combos 2 and 3 and boot camp cardio only. fun!!

bbl

Morris, Preschool was great. I did DM cardio'leg blast tonight. I'm gonna sleep great...I hope! Sorry, my bladder issues aren't that bad yet but I fear they will. Oh my word! How long did you workout?! DH home yet?

One more day til the weekend!!!!

sorry if tmi, but....i have been urinating blood this am. i think i must have a uti, b/c i never had to pee this much with ds. i will call the dr shortly and hope to get some relief. work is torture this am. just standing is awful. please wish em luck and relief.

kate, awsome workout. i have never tried that premix but will have to son. i love drill max!

Oh Morris! I hope you get some relief! OW!!!

Preschool graduation tonight for DD2, and her bday party (4!) is tomorrow! Lots to do!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Hey! We're all past the nausea crap now aren't we?!!

Morris--that sounds miserable--I hope you get to the Dr.'s soon and get some relief.

Kate--happy birthday to your little one!

It's getting warm here finally and I'm swelling in my feet and up my legs, which doesn't help the chubbiness I'm currently experiencing. Uggg I retain sooo much water whilst pregnant, especially when it's warm.....

take care all
Maggie:)
26 weeks, 4 days

Maggie, Sorry for the swelling. I had it so bad with DD1 I could NOT wear shoes of any kind at the end. My feet were so big and ugly. Even my skinny chicken legs swelled up and I have (very faint now) stretch marks behind my knees! Yuck! ...Thanks for the bday wishes! She is so excited!

Morris, Let us know how you're doing. As you know, you don't want any infection in your body right now!

I did 40 min of cardio fusion this afternoon. I could've done more but I have a ton of stuff to do. Better get busy!

Morris - Hope you feel better soon! I had an uti when I was pg with dd and the dr. prescribed antibiotics.

Maggie - It is awful hot here also. I can't stand it. I'm going to squeeze a workout in my bedroom since it has a/c and our workout room does not.

Kate - How exciting about feeling baby move! I think I felt a few movements last night, but nothing consistent. I'll be 16 weeks on Monday so I'm hoping soon. Supposedly you recognize it earlier if you were pg before, but it's been awhile since I was last pg so let's see what I remember!

I've been addicted to icees/slurpees for the last few weeks. Tons of sugar, but at least it's fat free. Ha, ha, gotta feel good about it somehow. Still waiting for my Cathe dvds to come in. Getting anxious to see which ones DH got. My back pain is gone for now. I have my big u/s on Wednesday. DD has her ballet recital this weekend. I can't wait. I'm gonna go lay down. The heat is giving me a headache.

Lisa

just a uti, thankfully! i feel awful still, but relief is on the way.

kate, great workout - hope the rest of the day went well.

maggie, sorry for the swelling. it does make one feel huge, doesn't it? i hate even the hint of swelling.

lisa, yeah on the us next week!! i cannot wait to hear how it goes. hope you enjoyed an airconditioned workout.

off to bed for me. not sure that i will be up early in the am:)
