Prayers to the Catheites in the Santa Cruz Mtns

Diane - a shout out to you too - since it did cross the fire break and is now on the "backside", are you okay? Let us know.

The fire is going more southeast, whereas it had been going southwest before. I'm well north of it all, although it's a bit smoky here today. I think Beth is to the northwest of it. But I'd feel better if we heard from her.

Thanks for all your concerns.

Diane

Sorry for the radio silence, guys.... we are absolutely fine. The fire continues to move away from us. I've even unpacked! :) Diane, do you find odd smoke patterns? We've had it clear, and then come back, clear, and come back, etc. Strange! But all is well for us, and the fire is 50% contained last I heard. Those firefighters are working hard!

thanks again for all the well wishes!!

Ya. I'm thinking that what little wind we're having shifts direction quite a bit. I keep hoping for rain! The Mercury News said 30% chance of it today and it feels like it just might.

Glad you're okay.

Diane

Great to hear from both of you! Glad the fire is moving away! It sure looks like it about to rain. We went to Santana Row for lunch and it was so humid. You know it's never humid here. Weird. I know they are forecasting lightning storms - another usual thing here. Hope we just get the rain.

So glad to hear how it is going from your points of view - hard to tell exactly where it had been heading the past couple of days on the news channels.

Sounds like it may be contained by tomorrow evening ! Got my fingers and toes crossed so you can all sleep soundly from here on out. ;-)

Thanks again. Though there are no visible signs of the fire at my house, and the school is even farther away from it, they are closing the school again tomorrow, so start praying for my sanity as I spend my 6th day cooped up at home with my crazy boys! :) Just kidding -- we are having fun -- I was just really ready to get back into the routine tomorrow, but we will stay up late yet another night! :)

Send good thoughts to Parkersburg, Iowa, where half the town's homes were destroyed by a tornado. Though he is no longer alive, my dad grew up in that tiny town.
